Item Speed Profile Analysis at the Speed Breakers at New Market Location in Dhaka City(Daffodil International University, 22-06-18) Pranto, Al Imran; Arafat, ShahA speed breaker is a rounded hump surface across the roadway which is provided to slow down the vehicles. Speed breakers are employed primarily at the locations where vehicles interact with vulnerable road user’s i.e. pedestrians in bulk volume. Furthermore, to prevent accidents resulting from over speeding of vehicles, speed-breakers are employed at some locations along the roadway. However, accidents may occur regardless of presence or absence of speed-breakers. Improper use of speed breaker might act as a catalyst for causing accidents. The purpose of this study is to determine the variation in speed for different vehicles at a speed breaker located along New market to Azimpur road section at Dhaka. To observe the variation of speed along the speed-breaker, we considered an 80 ft. road segment keeping the speed-beaker at middle. This approach will allow us to observe how drivers decelerate before approaching to the speed breaker and accelerates leaving the speed breaker. Since we did not have the access to speed gun, we used indirect method to calculate the instantaneous speed of vehicles. For this, we further subdivided the 80 segment into 5 small segments and marked them at the field and recorded the video using smartphone to calculate the time required for vehicles to cross those segments. Analysis shows that the behavior of driver for bus, car and rickshaw are not same at the speed breaker. On an average, bus drivers reduced their speed from 13.16 km/hr to 8.12 km/hr while reaching at the hump of speed breaker, afterwards they increased their speed from 8.12 km/hr to 10.61 km/hr while leaving the speed breaker. On the other hand, car driver’s speed before the speed breaker hump, at the speed breaker hump and after the hump were observed to be 17.55 km/hr, 11.6 km/hr and 15.23 km/hr respectively. Whereas rickshaw drivers speed for those threes case was observed 10.97 km/hr, 8.11 km/hr and 8.88 km/hr respectively. Therefore, it can be said that the low speed vehicle’s speed reduction rate is lower than the fast moving vehicles.Item Assessment of Mechanical Properties of Concrete Using Different Types of Cement Available in Local Markets in Bangladesh(Daffodil International University, 22-12-22) Sarker, MD. And we all know that a large part of the materials for building this structure is concrete, and the main component of these concrete materials is cement. The strength of concrete depends largely on the quality of this cement. We know that there are different types of cement available in the current market with different qualities, so to get high strength cement, we must have an idea of which cement to use for building structures. By doing this, the construction of the structure and its quality will definitely increase. The main aim of this study is to investigate. To find out which cement company is good for concrete. In this project, we used cement from three companies, Premier, Shah and Akiz, and made concrete cylinders of specific sizes with them. These cylinders were soaked in water for 7, 14, 28 days respectively. Then we calculated the compressive strength of each of them separately. By comparing the results obtained at seven days, we found out which cement gives more strength to the concrete, similarly, by comparing the results of 14 days, we found out which cement gives the highest strength. By comparing the results of compressive strength obtained from the last 28 days, that of concert. We found out which cement gives the highest strength. Finally we select the highest strength cement as admixture for concrete. Samiul; Islam, Md. Shahidul; Hasan, Md. NahidA speed breaker is placed perpendicular to a road to force drivers to reduce their speed. By regulating the speed of vehicles on local streets and accident-prone areas, they serve a significant role in enhancing safety. The reduction in speed is mostly determined by the length, height and kind of speed breakers. Commonly utilized types of speed breakers include speed bumps, speed humps, and artificial speed breakers. The purpose of this study is to determine the variation in speeds of different classes of vehicles at speed breakers road section of Manik Mia Avenue, Shyamoli Ring Road and West Raza Bazar in Dhaka. We provide a new approach for calculating the maximum permissible speed in curves that takes into account the three variables of the situation (distance, time, and speed) using the appropriate tools. The vehicle's dynamics are represented by a count and an average that incorporates a longitudinal top view and a side view-based speed analysis of speed breakers. The volume of traffic on the aforementioned highways was measured every 0-15 feet. Results found that during peak hours, the video was captured and the variation of speeds before and after 20 feet (Manik Mia Avenue), 6 feet (Shyamoli Ring Road), and 2 feet (West Rajabazar) from speed breakers was estimated at these sites. Both of the distances between us are identified by vehicle. The remaining rickshaw time at the Manik Mia avenue speed breaker is 8.94 km/h (2.02 seconds), while the remaining bike time is 15.36 km/h (1.12 sec). At an average of 1.12 seconds (11.96 kilometers per hour) per car, the West Rajabazar speed breaker was traversed. The average maximum speed per vehicle on Manik Mia Avenue is 12.25 km/h (1.51 seconds). We reviewed three-speed breakers in designated areas of Dhaka city and were able to determine the speed of the vehicles in front of the speed breaker while crossing the speed breaker and after crossing the speed breaker. Besides, we have been able to determine how many vehicles are moving every hour and what kind of vehicles are moving at Manik Mia Avenue carries 2,790 vehicles per hour, Shyamoli Ring Road in Dhaka sees an average of 2040 vehicle passes each hour, and West Razabazar there are 720 vehicular traffic movements each and every hour.Item Effect of Using Natural Jute Fiber Addition on Concrete Performance(Daffodil International University, 23-01-18) Sarker, Joynal Abdin; Siam, Imran HossainNumerous studies have been focusing on raising the mechanical and physical qualities of concrete since the first industrial revolution. By utilizing the waste materials in concrete as Fiber reinforced concrete, many concrete professionals are working on new techniques and ideas for modification in the field of concrete technology. This study outlines sustainable development that is based on an original application of natural jute fiber as a concrete fiber. One of those innovations that provides a practical, cost-effective, and convenient solution for overcoming microcracks and similar types of inadequacies is fiber reinforced concrete. Concrete typically has a brittle quality and weak tension. As a result, fibers are added to improve the properties of construction materials and raise their tensile strength. The tensile strength of jute fiber ranges from 300 to 700 MPa. The treated jute fiber shows a noticeable improvement in tensile strength, which is up by roughly 45% (JochenGassan, 1997). Natural Jute Fiber is an alternative material available in local area and at cheap cost. It is normally cultivated in field as jute and fiber is extract from jute. In this investigation, we employed readily accessible jute fiber as a concrete fiber. To boost strength and durability, we have attempted to employ Natural Jute Fiber as a fiber. Natural jute fiber was gathered, cut into smaller pieces, and added to cement concrete in this investigation at concentrations of 0%, 4%, 8%, 12%, and 16% by weight of cement. Compressive strength and split tensile strength have been evaluated for workability at three different curing ages, namely 7, 14, and 28 days. The strongest cylinder sets are seen when 1.5% jute fiber is utilized in concrete. By adding jute fiber concrete′s brittle problem totally gone and act like a plastic. Keywords: Natural Jute Fiber, Concrete, Fiber Reinforcement, Mixture.Item Standard Penetration Test: A Comparative Analysis Between Auto Trip & Manual Rig Systems(Daffodil International University, 23-01-18) Rahman, Md. Mizanur; Rasal, MenhazuddinThe Standard Penetration Test (SPT) is one of the widely used tests for subsurface exploration in Bangladesh. Generally two types of SPT rig systems are used, namely manually operated and auto trip systems. Most of the SPT is performed by a manually operated SPT rig system where keeping the standard free-falling height of the SPT hammer is quite difficult. In addition to that, nonstandard equipment and operational procedure, unskilled rig operators, and absence of regulatory bodies, the quality of the SPT data is unreliable in Bangladesh. In this study four manually operated and four auto trip SPT rig systems were examined at eight different sites. Then both systems were compared with respect to the ASTM standard in terms of hammer weight, dimensions of the split-spoon sampler, free-falling height of hammer, and energy efficiency. It was found that an auto trip hammer weight is 3.31 lb and a manually operated hammer is 7.4 lb less than the standard weight while the remaining six hammers weigh within the standard range. The length of the split barrel of all sites were found within the standard range. The inner diameter of a split barrel was found 5.27 mm less and outer diameter of three split barrels were found 1.62 mm, 1.82 mm, and 1.45 mm larger than the standard diameter. The thickness of a driving shoe was found 1 mm less and three driving shoes were found 0.49 mm, 0.62 mm, and 1.29 mm greater than the standard thickness respectively. The inner and outer diameter of five and six driving shoes were found greater than the standard diameter. The inner and outer surface of the split spoon samplers were found rusty in different digress. In case of manually operated rig system total 1252 hammer blows were recorded where only 468 blows were released from the standard free-falling height of 30 inch, which is 37.4% of total blows and 784 blows were released from a height either greater or lower than the standard free-falling height of 30 inch, which is 62.6% of total blows. In case of auto trip rig systems total 643 hammer blows were recorded and the standard free-falling height of 30 inches were maintained. It was found that the hammer energy transferred to the anvil for manually operated and auto trip rig systems varies between 99.4% to 99.5% and 89.4% to 113.7% respectively. The nonstandard practice is higher in case of manually operated rig systems as compared to the auto trip systems. Nonstandard practices are responsible for over/under estimation of soil’s strength. Due to the unreliability of the SPT data, the projects are often over designed, hence uneconomic.Item An Experimental Study of the Water-Cement Ratio and Concrete Strength(Daffodil International University, 23-01-18) Hassan, Zahid; Roy, Tarun; Alam, ShahinWater cement ratio is always a burning question for casting concrete. Concrete is the most versatile construction materials and used as a substitute of stone which acts as artificial stone. The strength of this important construction material mostly depends on a proper water cement ratio. A wrong water cement ratio may produce weak concrete in spite of using 1st class ingredients of concrete. Hence determining a proper water cement ratio is one of the important factors of civil engineers worldwide. The first, less frequently mentioned fundamental presumptions for the strength versus water-cement ratio relationship are discussed, namely that (a) the strength of structural concrete is controlled by the strength of the cement paste contained within it; (b) the strength of a cement paste strongly depends on its porosity; and (c) the porosity (capillary) is a function of the water-cement ratio. The connection between concrete strength and water-cement ratio is based on this. For this relationship, many empirical formulations, or "strength formulas," have been established, such as the Abrams formula. These calculations, which often are straightforward but have limited validity, estimate the concrete strength only based on the water-cement ratio. In order to provide improvements, a new class of strength formulas is presented in this study. These formulas include a second independent variable in addition to the water-cement ratio, such as the amount of cement, water, paste, etc. This addition (a) increases the precision with which strength estimates are made (b) demonstrates that, when the water-cement ratio of two comparable concretes is changed, the concrete with the higher cement content will have a lower strength, and (c) demonstrates that the size of changes in concrete strength depends on whether the water-cement ratio is altered by changing the cement content or the water content. These predictions are supported by experimental data. The impact of the other type of porosity, the air content, on the strength of concrete is likewise explained using a formula. When this is combined with any reliable strength formula, the experimental results for both air-entrained and non-air-entrained concretes are well-fitted.Item Comparative Analysis of Chemical and Natural Admixture in Concrete(Daffodil International University, 23-01-18) Ratu, Md Mahadi Hasan; Hossain, Md Shahadat; Trina, Nusrat Zahan; Hosen, SarafatConcrete's compressive strength and splitting tensile strength are two major problems. This study investigates the use of natural and chemical admixtures to increase the compressive and splitting tensile strength of concrete and to make it more costeffective. In our project, concrete cylinders with and without admixtures are formed, and their compressive strength is assessed 7, 14, and 28 days after curing. The results of both concrete categories are contrasted. Investigating the increase in compressive and splitting tensile strength caused by chemical and natural admixture is the main goal of this study. In this thesis project, we prepared four sets of 18 cylinder samples each, for a total of 72 cylindrical samples. We followed the guidelines for ASTM standards when working on this project. We used the M20 standard concrete grade, and the mix ratio was 1:1.5:3. We used the same quantity of cement, coarse aggregate, fine aggregate, and w/c ratio in each sample. One set of these was created without the use of admixture, while the remaining three were created using two chemical and one natural admixture in the same quantity of 7.2 ml. We investigated the compressive and splitting tensile strengths following three cycles of curing for 7, 14, and 28 days. After 28 days, the compressive strength measured 2372 psi without admixture, 2969 psi with 7.2 ml of self-compacting admixture, 2707 psi with 7.2 ml of gram flour as admixture, and 3201 psi with 7.2 ml of gram flour (using 7.2 ml high strength admixture).After 28 days of curing, the splitting tensile strength measured 309 psi without admixture, 365 psi with 7.2 ml of self-compacting admixture, 348 psi with 7.2 ml of gram flour as an admixture, and 448 psi with 7.2 ml of gram flour (using 7.2 ml high strength admixture). Here the amount of used admixture was 1% of the used cement weight. The additional cost for chemical admixture is 1.1 taka per sample and for gram flour the cost is 0.5 taka per sample. Comparing all of resultswe can say that natural admixture (Gram flour) isa suitable alternative to chemical admixture comparing economicaleffectand strength. Throughout the thesis study, all codes and conducts were upheld in accordance with ASTM standard requirements.. Asadul; Ahmed, Redown; Miah, Md. Al-aminDisposing of waste tires globally has become a big environmental problem in recent years. Some studies and experiments were conducted on replacement by crumb rubber in concrete and resolve the problem of environmental concern. Waste tires partially replace the fine aggregate and coarse aggregate in regular concrete in crumb rubberized concrete (CRC). Hence, in the concrete mix sand and stone partially replace by crumb rubber both as fine aggregate and coarse aggregate of 0%, 5%, 10% and 15% in this study. To ascertain the behavior of crumb rubber concrete, all mixtures were compared with traditional concrete and also compared between coarse crumb rubber and fine crumb rubber which is replace instead of stone and sand. A total of 78 cylinders with a 100 mm diameter and 200 mm height were cast and put through testing. The M30 concrete mixture underwent testing for twenty days. Slump, the spilt tensile test, and compressive strength were four variables evaluated. The research demonstrates that substituting some crumb rubber for sand and stone degrades concrete over time. According to the tests result, tensile strength, workability, and compressive strength declined as the amount of crumb rubber, both fine and coarse, rose. On the other hand, with increase the amount of coarse crumb rubber (CCR) the tensile strength was increased. Although crumb rubber which is used in concrete decreased compressive and tensile strength, however up to 5% MCR increased the tensile strength 5.30% for 28 days curing. Compared between CRC coarse and fine crumb rubber, the fine crumb rubber provides 48.05% higher compressive than coarse crumb rubberized concrete and 24.1% higher tensile value. So, it is recommended that 5% of MCR is appropriate for application in concrete mixture.Item Observation of Solid Waste Management System of Daffodil International University(Daffodil International University, 23-01-18) Tutul, Rifat Ahmed; Mamun, Abdullah Al; Shaikat, Raisur RahmanUniversities are a good example of an institution where a large number of people go to work or study every day. However, independent of their task, they use the University's various services such as cafeterias, canteens, and photocopy, and as a result of their activity, a cleaning service is also required. Rising costs and decreasing availability of dumping sites, as well as natural resource depletion, pollute the university environment, driving the need for university waste reduction, recycling and disposal management. When students use notebooks and pens, they can be discarded, as they should be thrown away after they fall. They should be cleaned promptly after use and moved to another location. When students eat, the leftovers should be thrown away. Leftover university canteens and food courts should be relocated as soon as possible. Reducing waste not only protects the environment, but it also saves money on disposal costs. Similarly, recycling and/or reusing waste benefits the environment by reducing the need to extract resources and lowering the potential for contamination. Uncollected solid waste can also obstruct storm water runoff, resulting in stagnant water bodies that serve as disease breeding grounds. Waste dumped near a water source also pollutes the water body or ground water source. According to the analysis, 100% of waste is directly disposed of in a dustbin, 0% is not disposed of, and 0% is neutral. We discovered this by surveying our university's waste management; we received 100% positive responses, 0% negative responses, and 0% neutral responses. When I asked if they encouraged other students to throw trash in the bin, they said 100% yes, 0% no, and 0% neutral. I asked everyone if they had any messages about providing a 100% solid lightning system. They respond with 100% no, 0% yes, and 0% security. The study concludes that the Waste Management is the human control of the collection, treatment and disposal of different wastes. Some components of waste have economic value and can be recycled once correctly recovered. The most important barriers to recycling are lack of equipment and technology, lack of materials to recycle and lack of consumer awareness. The compositions of different wastes have varied over time and location, with industrial development and innovation being directly linked to waste materials.Item Hydraulic Design of Deul-Uttara Bridge(Daffodil International University, 23-01-18) Obaida, Abu; Rahman, Sheikh Minhajur; Shanto, Rid-own Islam; Lubna, Nowshin Sultana; Chanda, DiptaIn a bridge design hydraulic consideration is important and integral part of bridge construction. This study deals with the hydraulic design of Deul-Uttara bridge which requires understanding of water resource engineering, hydraulic data, and empirical formula for its analysis and design. A topographical survey was conducted to survey the water line, the bank line, and the location of the bridge. Hydraulic data such as water level, discharge, and velocity were obtained from BWDB, from which design discharge with 100-year return period, scour depth, and linear waterway were estimated. This study recommends 190 meters as the length of the bridge and the depth of the foundation will be 6 meters below the river bed. This is the essential information required to create a bridge. MS Excel can be used to assess wind load value for R.C.C Residential Buildings, and other structures. The values of wind loads for different storey displacement, for different palaces with different exposure was investigated. These results are compared with each-other. In this study, the maximum windward load and leeward load increases as the number of storeys increases, which increases due to wind loads. Again, the maximum windward load and leeward load increases as the exposure changes from A to B and C respectively. And percent maximum value for each division was found 32.61%. Maximum design wind load was found in Chattogram and minimum design wind load was found in Rajshahi division.Item Data Analysis of Road Accidents on National Highway N5 Submitted(Daffodil International University, 23-01-29) Shahin; Polok, Jahed Hasan; Roy, Narayan Chandra; Islam, MD ArifulCurrently, road accidents are the leading causes of injury and death worldwide and have grown to be a major global issue. The high cost of traffic accidents each year has made them a critical issue in Bangladesh and around the world. Allowing its citizens to perish in traffic accidents is completely unacceptable and terrible. But it light of this unavoidable circumstance, careful investigation is needed. National Highway N5 is the area under investigation in this thesis. This highway connected the three divisions of Dhaka, Rajshahi and Rangpur. N5 highway highways are connecting the city Dhaka with Banglabandha on the Bangladesh-India border. The major focus of the thesis to explore the N5 highway road accident models, which cover both road safety and accident prevention in general, as well as the effects of using a specific model as the basis for actual preventative action. This paper focuses on a few particular parameters a) Road accident incidence rate b) Collision type c) Yearly variation of accident rate d) Accidents in different weather and surface condition e) Road accident factor. The data in the form of accident reports were collected from the yearly, monthly and dailyaccident research institute (ARI), (BUET). This information, which includes the accident's location and specifics for the time period of (2011-2015). According to statistics, 13% of total fatal accident occurs in highway. In most accident about 81% fatal, 13% are grievous, 4% are simple, and 2% are collision in N5 highways. A total number of fatal accidents have a negative effect on Bangladesh’s national GDP. The N5 highway's alternatives for improving road safety are discussed in this essay.Item Breast Cancer Prediction Using Traditional and Ensemble Machine Learning Techniques(Daffodil International University, 23-01-29) Hosen, Md. Ziad; Baidya, DeepanitaPhysical diseases like breast cancer have been on the rise recently.The majority of women are affected by breast cancer. The ratio of normal to diseased areas and the pace of unchecked tissue growth are used to quantify the illness. Breast cancer detection and prediction have been the subject of several research in the past. We have identified a few excellent chances to develop the methodology. We suggest employing efficient algorithm models to forecast dangers and raise early awareness. Our suggested approach is suited for straightforward breast cancer forecasts and is simple to apply in the actual world. We have used two dataset and Kaggle website hosted the dataset. Decision tree (DT), Random Forest (RF), Logistic Regression (LR), K-Nearest Classifier (KNN), and other classifiers have all been integrated in our model. Test accuracy for the Random Forest Classifier was 97.36% and 97.81% which was good performance for datasets A and B. We are getting better accuracy for the Logistic Regression was 98.54% using Dataset B. Other algorithms, Decision Tree tested accurate to 96.49%. In order to defend the performances, we also employed a variety of ensemble models. We used Bagging, Boosting, and Voting algorithms. To assign the optimal parameters to each classifier, we employed hyper-parameter tweaking. The experimental investigation reviewed the results of previous recent studies and found that RFBO and LRGD performed best, with 98.24% and 99.27% accuracy being the highest level of accuracy for breast cancer predictions.Item Dyeing of 100% Knitted Polyester with Disperse Dyes Using Natural Acid-Buffer and Compared with Conventional Dyeing Method(Daffodil International University, 23-01-29) Suter, Avijit; Rifat, Md. HasinuzzamanDisperse dye is famous & most common element to dyeing polyester fabric in the textile world. It is the only dye which can capable to dyeing polyester fabric. In this studies, focused on maintaining same pH value of dye bath 4.0-4.2, which is extremely required for polyester dyeing with disperse dye. Here also maintain same dye concentration, dyeing temperature and cooling method just bring change in chemical. For dyeing the polyester fabric with disperse dyes, need to use acetic acid for the maintain pH of dye bath and dispersing agent/levelling to proper dispersion of dye. In this experiment, trying to used citric acid which extracted from lemon and sodium citrate make from citric acid & baking soda. Here acid-buffer act as both dispersing agent & acetic acid & helps to dye adsorption on the fabric. After completing dyeing, observe wash fastness and rubbing fastness difference, color strength difference in spectrophotometer and shade difference after changing chemical & check the all quality parameter of both dyed sample and compare them. The result is natural acid-buffer dyed sample slightly lighter in shade but the other quality parameters are satisfactory.Item Investigation of Faults of Sample Garments(Daffodil International University, 23-02-18) Nuruzzaman; Nur, Khandakar Abdullah; Marma, Salah PruIn the sample section, there are different types of sampling faults. So, various faults arise usually during manufacturing a sample in the industry. In industries, generally most of the employees are not educated and technically trained up. Therefore, during troubleshooting of any fault, they fail to find the root cause of the fault and take severe steps as trial error methods to solve the problem. Buyers who buy garments from an industry ensure the quality of the garments by different types of samples which must fulfil all requirements of the buyer. But there are different types of faults in the complete sample garments. It must be removed from the garments. From this point of view, we became intended to perform a project namely- “Investigation of faults of sample garments.” We conducted the project work and practically observed the sample garments manufacturing faults during my (2 months long) industrial training in Mosharaf Apparel Studio Ltd. Based on practical experience, theory from text books and through discussion with our supervisor, finally we prepared the project. The project paper contains details of sample garments, literature of the sample, sampling process, analytical data about the faults of sample garments manufacturing, and discussion of the results and their remedies & reference of the information in the project.Item Study on Bottleneck Problem in Sewing Line for Garments Production(Daffodil International University, 23-02-18) Foysal, Jayed Al; Sarker, SouravIn garment industry Production floor management is one of the most powerful techniques and one of the challenging tasks to manage the floor in a proper way. Sewing floor or Sewing section is one of the most important and critical stage in the garment industry. In sewing section, all the item or process is not easy, there are some critical processes and in the sewing floor all the Operator and helper are not well skilled to do some operation. For that reason, operator faces some difficulties during those critical operation as well as in easy process. For facing this kind of difficulties, the production gets hampered in that line and the sewing line cannot fulfilled the production for one or two operation and this problem is known as bottleneck. Bottleneck occurred for many reasons and for Bottleneck the Capacity decreases. Basically, it happens when the workload comes too early. There are many ways to overcome from this problem and by reducing it the capacity or the production will be increased. By doing motion improvement, method improvement, process sharing, adding manpower and uniform line balancing Bottleneck can be removed. By improving this we can reduce the cycle time and increased the efficiency and achieve the target capacity. AnamulA production system may be described as the mechanism by which we convert inputs of resources into outputs of useful goods and services. On the factory floor, several production systems are accessible, such as the bundle production system, the progressive line production system, the Straight line System, and the unit production system, among others. Each method of manufacturing has its own distinct operating features. The Unit Production System (UPS) is a mechanical system in which the unit of production is a single garment and not bundles, the garment components are automatically transported from workstation to workstation according to a predetermined sequence, and the work stations are designed so that the components are presented as close as possible to the operator's left hand to reduce the amount of movement required to grasp them. This technology eliminates all handling of bundles, reduces the time required for pick-up and disposal, automatically logs output, and allows for simultaneous production of many styles. Unit Production System (UPS) offer significant benefits over other human and mechanical technologies utilized for large apparel manufacture. In this study I provided 3 days data and analiysis it and, present it by table chart and graph. I found these benefits over Progressive Bundle System (PBS) line SMV Variation 14%, Capacity Variation 16%, Manpower Variation 16%, Output Variation 3%, Defected Goods Variation 46%. But Unit Production System (UPS) installation is very expensive . 22 Station full setup installation cost was 2400,000 Taka.Item Study on Development Sample of Home Textile Industry(Daffodil International University, 23-02-18) Rahman, HabiburThis report is based on the part of development of sample of Home Textile Industry. Researched about 3 types of development sheet to know what buyer comments for approving the sample. By approving the sample of development, final work can be start for creating the product in a Bulk. But if there has any major problem in the development sample, there has a chance to rejection of order. Has worked on this report because of the comparison of these two as which one is efficient or useful. It has been observed 1 hours each day and also observed 1-4 week to collect some non-productive time data, Productive time data, Efficiency % data and wastage % data and identified the major differences between automated spreading and manual spreading. This thesis report it has been found one month analysis of productive time, nonproductive time, wastages and Efficiency % between automated spreading and manual spreading. The major differences of this analysis between automated spreading and manual spreading is their wastage % and manpower capabilities. In automated Spreading nonproductive time is lesser than manual spreading and after one month of analysis manual spreading is more efficient due to their manpower than automated spreading. So last but not the least we can say that both the processes are very important in our textile industry. Sewing floor or Sewing section is one of the most important and critical stage in the garment industry. In sewing section, all the item or process is not easy, there are some critical processes and in the sewing floor all the Operator and helper are not well skilled to do some operation. For that reason, operator faces some difficulties during those critical operation as well as in easy process. For facing this kind of difficulties, the production gets hampered in that line and the sewing line cannot fulfilled the production for one or two operation and this problem is known as bottleneck. Bottleneck occurred for many reasons and for Bottleneck the Capacity decreases. Basically, it happens when the workload comes too early. There are many ways to overcome from this problem and by reducing it the capacity or the production will be increased. By doing motion improvement, method improvement, process sharing, adding manpower and uniform line balancing Bottleneck can be removed. By improving this we can reduce the cycle time and increased the efficiency and achieve the target capacity. This thesis report will show how to reduce bottleneck and its remarkable improvement in production.
