Item Foreign Exchange Transactions Comprise LC Advice, Negotiation of Export Documentary Bills, and Repatriation of Bills Proceeds(East West University, 8/24/2005) Hossain, Kazi SharminThis report aims toward providing an overview on the Foreign Exchange Banking system in Prime Bank Limited. The report is prepared within the broader framework of Internship Program of the Business Administration Department, EAST WEST UNIVERSITY. While preparing this report it has been tried to reveal the insights of the foreign exchange banking system of the bank. Simultaneously efforts have been made to provide an in depth analysis on the General Banking system in the light of the theoretical aspects. And a few recommendations and suggestions were also prescribed based on the observation and findings. While discussing the different aspects and functions of the bank, priority has been given to depict the real Situation as far as appraisal and management system in Prime Bank Ltd. are concerned by employing the experience gathered during the internship program. Analysis on the findings is basically done to sort out the major aspects of the Foreign Exchange Banking system and to draw some significant inferences. At the same time for easier understanding of the report, supporting topics and terms are explained in light of textbooks and regulatory guidelines. To examine the efficiency of the Export management system, Letter of credit has been taken as the prime factor. Simultaneously analysis on the foreign exchange, foreign LC advising has also been done. Utmost care has been given to explain all necessary aspects related to the subject matter for easier and quick understanding of the report.Item An Appraisal of Overall Financial Performance and Operations of One Bank Limited(East West University, 8/24/2005) Majumder, SravantiI have prepared this report on One Bank Limited. My focus was on the financial performance of the bank and its overall operations. Banking sector is so important for sustaining the country's continued growth and development. In this context this study is carried out just to assess, financial analysis of last four years and identify problems, information about the bank's deposit, investments, brief description of the bank's main departments function and the overall performance of the bank In chapter 1, I discussed about the introduction, origin of the report, objective of the study, scope of the report and limitations of the report. In chapter 2, I discussed the background, aims and objectives, special features of One Bank, operational functions of One bank, organizational layout of One bank limited. In chapter 3 I discussed about the organizational layout of One Bank Limited In chapter 4, the overall financial performance of OBL are discussed. I In chapter 5, I gave the conclusion, bibliography and discussed about the problems and try to give a possible suggestion. All kinds of account opening, closing, fund transfer, issuing cheque book are held in general banking both local and foreign. The main function of bank is to take deposits from one person and giving loan to another person. For taking deposits and giving loan some rules and regulations are there. Loan administration deals with this rules and regulations. The main function of marketing is to book customer for loan and deposit and to determine which clients are profitable, feasible, and viable. Trade finance department is concerned with letter of credit (Lie) which is an undertaking for payment issued by bank (Lie issuing bank) at the request of its client (Lie applicant) favoring beneficiary (supplier or exporter) and advised through a bank (advising bank) in the beneficiaries country and contains certain terms and conditions. Accounts take the reports from all other departments and add some new information, update daily position or daily activity report, check and report voucher, prepare documents for the payment of salary to each employee. Now they are use totally computerize data input and create note-pad file also report generating system. The software will take input from the agents of their daily activities. It stored all the customer personal information and generate the not pad fIle base on their daily requested given from the customer care and sales department. The whole working process of EXIM Bank: Ltd is divided into 3 sections- (I) General Banking section, (ii) Credit Section, (iii) Foreign Exchange Section. This report has been presented based on observation from each section, which is consisted of various departments. Foreign exchange department plays various roles through providing different services for the customers. Letters of credit is the key player in the foreign exchange business. Timely payment for exports and quicker delivery of goods is the pre-requisite for successful international trade operations. Banking sector in Bangladesh.Item CSR- Corporate Social Responsibility what the companies are doing?(East West University, 11/15/2005) Tarin, Fahmida AnwarScalars nihilities of businesses and their managers have been discussed since the 1950s. Yet no consensus about progress has been achieved in the corporate social responsibility/corporate social performance literature. In this report, we seek to analyze the views on this literature. One view is that development occurred from conceptual vagueness, through clarification of central constructs and their relationships, to the testing of theory-a process supported by increased sophistication in research methods. In contrast, other claims that hardly any progress is to be expected because of the inherently normative character of the literature. A final view is that progress in the literature on the social responsibilities of business is obscured or even hampered by the continuing introduction of new constructs. This report explores the views that better describes the evolution of the literature during a period of 30 years and suggests implications for further research.Item The marketing system of Nassa Taipei Textile Mill Ltd.(East West University, 12/15/2005) Ali, Ashrafia NanditaAt present garments and textile is the largest foreign currency earlier industry in Bangladesh exporting about seven million us dollar and employing approximately two million workers. The largest export sector contributing 75% of total export of the country. On 31 st December 2004, the agreement on textile and clothing (ATe) ended, and with in the quota system for international trade in textile and clothing. And the Television companies continuously try to improve the Owen brand picture quality and sound system. It is a media, which help us to refresh after working one the other hand it entertain us. In Bangladesh there are many company marketing many television Brand among them according to Quality, Price, Prestige and Exclusiveness I select four Television As competitor of Sony they are Philips, Samsung, LG, and Panasonic. Those televisions are actually worlds famous brand and also welcome by Bangladeshi people. Television market survives in a hyper competitive environment where different brand take deference strategy to compete with other. It is very difficult to entire in this market. In the report I try to focus what is the strong and weak point of those companies as well as their market position. For this reason we are getting quality television at a reasonable price at Bangladesh.
