The stage is set for rapid growth and development in every sector of the economy. The power engineering sector is also experiencing significant changes. 'Professionalism & Innovation ' is the key word for success nowadays and in the years to come only those companies which have a total commitment to this sector will thrive. D G Power Ltd. is determined to play a leading role in the development of power engineering sector in the twenty-first century. Over the past seven years it has worked towards building a strong foundation and establishing a professional corporate identity for our company. Today, in the field of power engineering, D G Power Ltd. is a recognized concern; respected for its achievements, professional ethics and innovative concepts. The corporate philosophy of D G Power Ltd. is however based on a very simple principle "Customer gets the first preference". Born in 2009, D G Power Ltd has pulled out all the stops to boost powerengineering business in Bangladesh. The company is committed to providing world standard products and servicesto target market. The Human resources played a vital role for the growth of D G Power Ltd. So, I prepared the internship report of the topic “Overall HRM practices and employee satisfaction in D G power limited”Item The operations & supply chain management of Energypac Engineering Ltd(BRAC University, 1/15/2021) Islam, Aynul; Rahman, Md. LutforIn today's global marketplace, effective supply chain management is seen as a significant competitive advantage for a business. The enterprise that conducts robust supply chain planning activities, delivers increased efficiencies. Supply chain managers plan, schedule, and control that flow of goods to help the company stay competitive and control costs. They build the bridges between suppliers, companies, and consumers. Energypac Engineering Ltd. is a major player and the largest private organization in the power sector industry of Bangladesh. Problem is Energypac plays a monopoly role in the domestic power sector market. In the local market there is no competitor at the moment. This seems to be a good sign, but has some bad impact too. Due to having no proper competition, Energypac has not really felt the importance of optimized use of its resources. In this current market, there is no room for comfort. There are competitors growing in the local market, and the market is rapidly opening up to the foreign investors. Throughout the report, the focus is to find potential improvement areas and apply my knowledge and tools for betterment of the procurement process and strategy for Energypac Engineering Limited. Firstly, I tried to figure out the problems through survey, prioritizing the list and finally propose action plan against each. Importance has been given on implementing the Enterprise resource planning (ERP) as that will solve a lot of problems, specially the inefficiency issues at Energypac.Item Challenges of vehicle tracking businessin Bangladesh(BRAC University, 1/16/2016) khan, Mohammad Shahidul Islam; Hossain, Mr. SaifThe growing use of Vehicle tracking Business in Bangladesh provides a developing prospect for the security necessity of Vehicle owners.According to BRTA (Bangladesh Road Transport Authority) the number of registered motor vehicle in Dhaka city is 7,97,184 up to March 2014. And the total number of motor vehicles throughout the country is 20,20,799. So the market size of online vehicle management system is vast. Realizing the importance of these issues some companies like Prohori, Monico Technologies Limited, Grameenphone, NITS, BDCOM are providing GPS based online vehicle tracking service but still now none of them are started to provide entire integrated Vehicle Management System which will be more useful for both the single user and also the corporate or fleet managing companies. The main target of this exploratory research is to find out the business opportunity for providing this type of service for the first time in Bangladesh. Then questionnaires will be administered through an online survey. Other approaches will be used for analysis are tabs, cross-tabs, chi-square, factor analysis, cluster analysis, etc. These statistical tools are used with the help of MS-Excel.The analysis from these tools helped gather useful insights upon what type of respondents we had, what attributes the consumers consider while making the purchase decision. The growing use of Vehicle tracking Business in Bangladesh provides a developing prospect for the security necessity of Vehicle owners. If VTS Providers know the factors affecting the Bangladeshi consumers’ behavior, and the relationships between these factors and the mode of their business, then they can further develop their marketing strategies to convert potential customers into active ones, while retaining existing VTS customers. This research is a part of study, and focuses on factors which VTS Bangladeshi buyers keep in mind while buying such product in order to choose the right thing. This research will identify the present market scenario of vehicle tracking management systems & comparing the VTS providing firms with each other. This research found that; in spite of implementing or providing high-end technology based huge expensive product, if the firms can import and provide the customers with low cost Chinese VT devices, then they can easily can reach to a huge number of new customers. This research also found that a great concern about the security among the vehicle owners is the solo most effective reason for the growth rate of VTS services. I also found that for new companies it will be more efficient for them if they just buy the required software instead of built them in house. After getting established in this sector they can develop their own systems. I also found that the great a firm have invested in this business the great their revenue earning becomes. So, new companies who are willing to enter in to this VTS sector have to invest a minimum taka. 2 crore. I also found that both SMS and online based services are must to provide, because internet penetration is very low in our country. Easy to use, secured, cost effectiveness and reliability are the four dominant factors which influence consumer perceptions of VTS products.Item Kool blue deodorant body spray in terms of marketing actions: a case study of Square Toiletries Limited(BRAC University, 1/16/2017) Bonik, Eric Mithun; Haq, MahmudulSQUARE Toiletries Limited (STL) has started it’s journey in 1988 as a division an ISO 9001 certified company. In 1994 Square Toiletries Limited began its journey as a Private Limited Company. Now STL is the country’s leading manufacture of international quality cosmetics and toiletries products. Square Toiletries limited is the largest Toiletries manufacturer and marketer in Bangladesh. Being a modern company Square has been leading the Toiletries market from 1994 as well as markets of some important and good number of product ranges. Square is pioneer in launching new products, which is considered as the Key Success Factor (KSF) of the company. Square is diversified in their business strategies. It has a number of different business organizations like pharmaceuticals, textiles, consumer products, Hospital, Housing, etc. Among a number of portfolios, Square is also operating in the market with its Deodorant Body Spray portfolio. This portfolio comprises of three different products with 150ml sizes under the brand name KOOL Blue Deodorant Body Spray. Like all other Toiletries products KOOL Body Spray has also been promoted to the retailers since its inception. Square Toiletries Ltd. wants to take advantage of the vast market opportunity in local market. The market is growing by about 20%. The growth of the franchise company is about 37%. Most of the body sprays have been taken into the country by illegal way. There is a big chance of local product with quality ingredients. These are the actual opportunity to this company to capture the market, become the market leader in this sector. So far their main current problem is that they don’t have any proper organized marketing plan on how to get the maximum profit and hold market share as a leader in this promising sector. There is lot of competition in the body spray marketing channel. A lot of study has been made, through analyzing the Body Spray market, sales and growth trend of the deodorant body spray products available in the market etc. Moreover, primary data has been collected by interviewing general people to determine the perception they have towards deodorant body spray. Some marketing experts have been interviewed in an openended mode to get their opinion for improving market share of KOOL brand in the consumer level. Finally, all the collected data have been analyzed together to meet some specific objectives that were noted earlier for the accomplishment of this research work in favor improving and ensuring the brand equity of KOOL Blue Deodorant Body Spray in the urban areas for fashionable young customer. The primary data collected from the general consumer have been analyzed arithmetically in percentage scale and represented in the pie chart. Experts’ opinions have been noted for judgmental analysis. These opinions have given highest priority for their expertise in the marketing and brand development. Secondary data were thoroughly analyzed to identify the market trend of Body Spray, which would be helpful for determining the strategies for the improvement of liking for KOOL Blue Deodorant Body Spray in the fashionable young consumer level. Square Toiletries Ltd. has its own strategic goal of achieving number one position in Body Spray market. In order to achieve this goal the company should not express any sign of gratification at any time of its business. However, it is to be noticed that after the accomplishment of this research work, almost a definite guideline can be defined for the marketing plan of KOOL Blue Deodorant Body Spray in urban area of Bangladesh.Item Errors in account opening, causes and solutions: a study on Dhaka Bank Limited.(BRAC University, 1/17/2016) Razzaque, Adrita; Hossain, Mr. SaifDhaka Bank Limited is one of the fastest growing banks in our country and the bank is contributing a lot to our economy with their banking operation since 1995. As a private commercial bank, DBL is trying it’s best to extend their services to the public. DBL, KDA Avenue Branch, Khulna, provides all kinds of commercial banking services to its customers. To be the premier financial institution in the country providing high quality products and services backed by latest technology and a team of highly motivated personnel to deliver Excellence in banking. Dhaka Bank gave me the opportunity to work in the banking industry; I got a huge idea on how the whole banking system works. The tasks, that I have performed during the tenure of my internship has surely enriched my skills and this working experience in a bank was very beneficial to me. Bank is a financial intermediary, which mobilizes fund from surplus unit and deploy it to deficit unit. Bank mobilizes the fund by accepting deposits from depositors and allocates the fund by providing loan to borrower. The relationship between a banker and his customer begins with the opening of an account by the banker in the name of the customer. Banker solicits deposits from the public of different walks of life and having different financial status.Accepting deposits is one of the main functions of commercial banks. In DBL various types of accounts are offered to various customers. But there are some errors in account opening process in the banks. As a partial requirement of MBA program I need to go for internship to gather practical experience and need to submit the report regarding that practical knowledge. This report is originated after completing the MBA program from BRAC university of Bangladesh. This report is the outcome of the assigned internship, suggested by the supervisor. The report will definitely increase the knowledge of other students about errors in account opening, reason behind the errors and the possible solutions, and help to know the banking industry of Bangladesh.Item Employee recruitment and development process at maf Shoes Ltd.(BRAC University, 1/17/2016) Das, Arnob; Chowdhury, Mr. Mohammad Noman HossainAs part of my MBA program, I have completed my three months internship program from a well-known industry named “maf Shoes Ltd.”. From my personal view the learning aspect was fruitful and the experience there will help me in the future. I have learnt many aspects of HR, working with different sections of the company. Mainly working with recruitment and selection section of the company was a great learning opportunity.Item Financial effectiveness of sales promotional activities(BRAC University, 1/17/2016) Alam, Md. Noor; Hossain, SaifThis report is prepared on the basis of my three-month practical experience at “Square Toiletries Limited” one of the largest and leading "Fast Moving Consumer Goods" company in Bangladesh. This internship program helped me to learn about the practical scenario of a Toiletries Company. SQUARE Toiletries Limited is a dynamic and leading countrywide toiletries product manufacturer and also producer. It is another concern company of SQUARE group. Square toiletries limited (STL) started in 1988 as a division and ISO: 9001 certified company. In 1994 square toiletries limited began its journey as a private limited company. This report has been presented based on my observation and experience gathered from the company. The organization has many divisions and departments but the focus is given more on the Accounts and Finance division situated in the SQUARE Centre 8th floor. I got the opportunity to work in “Accounts & Finance” department. The report is based on sales promotion practices and policies At Square Toiletries Ltd. The purpose of the report is to evaluate the sales promotional activity in the company. After experiencing the real scenario of SQUARE Toiletries Limited in terms of their different sales promotional project a lot of recommendations came up. The report also consist recommendations and conclusion according to my point of view, which I think would improve the environment of the organization if implemented.Item Performance evaluation of credit operation systems of Trust Bank Ltd.(BRAC University, 1/18/2015) Khan, Ishrat Jahan; Haque, SaminaToday necessity of a Bank as a financial institution is undeniable. A country is financially rich when it has modern financial institutions of its own. These institutions play a vital role in the field of financial stability of a country. Banking sector is one of the stable financial institutions of a country. Due to Globalization and Technological changes, the banking business has become very competitive now a day. All banks are competing to give effective real time service to their customers. For giving friendly service to the customers they need experienced and well-educated working force. The overall approach of the report is a Descriptive one as it goes into the depth of “Performance Evaluation of Credit Operation Systems of Trust Bank Ltd”. Here both primary and secondary information were used. Interview was the basic techniques comply to collect primary data from any people within the organization. Information about the varieties of activities within the Correspondent Banking Department was collected through interviewed. Among the secondary sources to collect data regarding the company’s performance over the Annual reports of Trust Bank Ltd. Different circulars and papers of Trust Bank Ltd, General Banking Operation manual, Banking Lecture sheet within the organization helped me to gather data about the organization. The principal reason banks are chartered by the government and the central bank is to make loans to their customers. Banks are expected to support their communities with an adequate supply of credit for all legitimate business and consumes financial needs and to price that credit reasonably in the line with competitively determined interest rates. In deed, making loans is the principal economic function of banks to fund consumption and investment spending by businesses, individuals and units of government. How well a bank performs its lending function has a great deal to do with the economic health of fits region, because bank loans support the growth of new businesses and jobs within the banks trade territory and promote economic vitality, Moreover, bank loans often seem to convey positive information to the marketplace about a borrower’s credit quality, enabling a borrower to obtain more and perhaps somewhat cheaper funds from other sources. The report contains seven chapters. The first chapter of the report describes the introductory words of the internship report in which Introduction of Topic, Origin of the report, Objective of the Report, Scope of the Report, Methodology, and Data Analysis and Organize & Limitations. The second chapter contains the Background of “Trust Bank Ltd.”, Organization Structure of “Trust Bank Ltd.”, Vision of “Trust Bank Ltd.”, and Mission Statement of “Trust Bank Ltd.” In third chapter, it contains the Theoretical framework. In chapter four, it contains Analysis of Credit Operation of Trust Bank Ltd and chapter five contains Ratio Analysis and Frequency Analysis & Findings. Different Problems, suggestions, recommendations have come at the end of the report. TheProblems findings during the three-month internship period & suggestions are given from observation, comparative analysis, strategic point of view etc. In fine, this paper contains some findings and recommendations, which may be helpful for the Bank. TBL has gained success from the very beginning of their operation and was capable enough to hold the success year after year. It gained success very early because it has a very strong backup to provide it financial support and they are the army welfare trust. The credit portfolio of the bank is a mix of scheme loans, micro credit, marriage loan, car loan, and commercial loans. Commercial loans comprise trade financing in the form of working capital and other funded and non-funded credit facilities. The bank has a classified loans and advances much lower (3%) than the national average (30%).The bank as a matter of priority it wants to ensure the quality of its loans portfolio by strengthening post disbursement recovery measures as well as by prioritizing on Early Warning System (EWS) to check the growth of non-performing assets.Item Clearing house and general banking system of Social Islami Bank Ltd.(BRAC University, 1/19/2014) Huda, Sayad Nazmul; Ghosh,Santu KumarThe report represents the three-month working experience on Social Islami Bank Limited (SIBL). I was assigned in the Bashundhara Branch of SIBL. This report gives a clear idea of the activities and the operation strategies of the Bank. SIBL incorporated in 5th July 1995 and being into its commercial operation on 22nd November with a view to provide exclusive service facilities to its client and accordingly meet the demand of banking service all over Bangladesh. During the short span of its operation the bank had been widely acclaimed by the business community from small business persons to industrial conglomerates for forward looking business outlook and innovative financial solution. I‟ve divided the study between five chapters. It is argued however, that any study of Islamic Banking in the 21st Century should make dispassionate interpretation of history of achievement and failures of past generations and take cognizance of rising expectations and signs of re-discovering Islam in the contemporary period. This bank is playing a vital role in the islamic banking region in Bangladesh. They are going through Shariah Law by direction of Shariah Board. The whole report is based on the operations of SIBL and the services it provides. My overall experience had been very fascinating and I believe internship period at Social Islami Bank Ltd. will definitely help me a lot in building my future career.Item How the City Bank Limited deals with different operational area(BRAC University, 1/23/2007) Rahman, Md. Mushfiqur; Choudhury, FarzanaItem Service recovery of RMA Inte PTE Ltd.rnational(BRAC University, 1/24/2015) Hossain, Md. Mamun; Aziz, Mohammed TarequeItem Reaching student population through Google applications(BRAC University, 1/24/2016) Rahman, S. M. Arafatur; Hossain, SaifNow-a-days the dynamism of modern technologies & its pragmatic applications are almost inevitable for our day to day life style. Google is on a triumphant march for providing solutions to emerging needs & connecting people across the globe by creating virtually inter-connected world through Google Apps. Recently Google Bus Bangladesh has officially launched its journey in the country to encourage the students at college and university level to get involved in internet use through Google Apps to bag and maximize the benefits of ICT in their lives. Market Access Group, one of the biggest marketing agencies in Bangladesh, is event & activation partner of ‘Google Bus Bangladesh’ project campaign. This project consists of Planning team, advanced team & Trainer team for executing the entire projects to reach ultimate objectives. I have worked in the trainer team & visited various college and university campuses as an execution part of this job as well as gathering information for the internship report. The training part has been designed as an interactive session among the students & trainers starting with the audience based contents structured by the Google Bus Bangladesh team. The contents have been configured with the technical-know-how and benefits of Google apps for virtual documentations (docs, spreadsheet, and calendar), group discussions, and live video conference (Hangout), social networking (Google+), virtual data storage accessible from any device (Google drive), educative learning & entertainment through online video channel (YouTube) etc. for the students. The training session has used to be boosted up with the Quiz contest based on the contents delivered and gift for the winners. The Google Bus journey to a campus has to end up with the hands-on participation of the students in joining virtual Google plus Community. I came up with the findings that Google apps has diversified interactive virtual facilities to reduce the complexities of storing, editing and losing data or records; it has limitations due to formatting mismatch that limits data copy and paste among Google docs, Google spreadsheet & Google presentation. Moreover, Google plus community is not so popular among students like Facebook community for social networking. However, Google apps have crafted a vast window for the tech-freak emerging student community of Bangladesh.Item Human resource planning and practice at Agrani Bank Limited, Kamlapur branch, Dhaka(BRAC University, 1/25/2016) Begum, Rahima; Ghani, ArifThis report is based on practical working experience at The Agrani Bank Limited as a part of internship program.
