Abstract

Water quality assessment plays a pivotal role in understanding the health and ecological status of freshwater ecosystems. This study investigates the spatial and temporal variations in water quality parameters in the Turag and Karnatuli rivers, employing a comparative approach. Seven sampling locations along the rivers were selected, considering factors such as industrial activities and ecological significance. Water samples were collected during both wet and dry seasons to capture seasonal variability. A comprehensive suite of water quality parameters, including pH, Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Electrical Conductivity (EC), Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), temperature, and turbidity, were analyzed. Statistical analyses, including Water Quality Index (WQI) calculations and correlation matrices, were employed to elucidate patterns and relationships among the parameters.
