Abstract

One of Bangladesh's busiest and most significant highways, the Dhaka-Tangail highway links the nation's capital city with its northern areas. Nevertheless, in spite of its importance, the highway is notorious for having a high number of traffic accidents. Because of the deaths, injuries, and property damage these accidents produce, they are becoming a major source of concern for the public and for the government. Dhaka Tangail highway still a dead trap. 229 deaths in 133 road accidents in a year. According to a study released by RSF (Reporters Without Borders), 186 individuals sustained injuries on the Dhaka-Tangail route in total last year. 78 more persons lost their lives in 47 motorcycle accidents. 48 bystanders or pedestrians and 54 additional auto rickshaw passengers perished in those incidents.
