The study was conducted among the farmers of six villages under Taherpur Upazila of Sunamganj district to assess the hindrances to the higher yield and to determine the gap of production packages recommended for haor area in relation to boro rice production. A structured interview schedule was used to collect data from of a sample of 100 farmers of six villages during June to August, 2014. Practice gap was determined on the basis of the difference between the recommended production package for boro rice and actual practice of the farmers of haor area. Overwhelming majority (84 percent) of the farmers had medium (18.02 – 31.42 percent) to high (31.43 – 44.85 percent) practice gap.
