(BRAC University, 2022-01) Jahan, Nusrat; Akhter, Ms. Rahma
Chapter 1, I talk about myself, the company I worked for Akij and my supervisor Mr. Rezwan Ullah Khan, who is a senior manager and I worked directly under him. Then My contribution to the company as an intern. I learned how to follow standards and practices for products releasing and how to meet these. I know how to properly conduct marketing research and figure out what the customer needs. The problems I faced were partially Akij’s fault as unfortunately the department I went to had no female employees. I recommended that more workplace diversity should be taken in by Akij. More management positions should be taken by more female employees to diversify not just the workplace but also ideas and thought processes. After that I extensively talk about Akij as a company, how they conduct their work. Their mission vision and objectives. I talk about the overview of the company, Their governing body and directors’ body. We talk about their marketing tactics like linked in and other internet mediums. I talk about their management practices. I show in table view their income and expenditures and finally gave summary and conclusion. I recommended to Akij that they should invest more in mobile and internet methods to make more of their products easier to access. Finally, I talk about my biggest project I had to undertake. This was where I researched the market and I had to make the nutrients facts to make sure that the customers remain informed. This ensures we follow the proper standards and customs to release a product in the market. And I recommended them nothing as this process was easier on our own side, but much harder to collect the data from Bangladeshi standards institutions.

The influence of training and development programs on employee performance of Nagad Ltd.
(BRAC University, 2023-05) Jahan, Nusrat; Khan, Tanzin
In the modern world, training and development are the key components of a company's growth. It assists a business by educating and preparing its workforce to thrive in today's dynamic and fiercely competitive business environment. The company benefits from the introduction of fresh changes as well. This paper aims to clarify the part that training and development play in enhancing employee performance. Of all mobile financial services in Bangladesh Nagad is the fastest-growing one. The training and development program of Nagad is the sole focus of this investigation, which also aims to determine how this program affects the performance of its employees on a daily basis. In this work, qualitative analysis is used to examine the data collected. 52 of the 700 people working at the Nagad headquarters were interviewed for the paper. Of those 700 employees, 52 were selected at random to participate in the interview. In order to determine whether or not the training and development program at Nagad is successful, the first part of this study analyzes the characteristics of an effective training and development program. The next part of the study identifies the factors that contribute to strong employee performance, as well as the ways in which these factors were affected by the training and development program that was established by Nagad. The training and development program is effectively planned; yet, there are still certain areas in which it might be improved. There are also limitations to the paper. The largest limitation of this paper is that it is based solely on the Nagad headquarters and a few specific divisions and does not represent the industry as a whole. The majority of indicators suggest that Nagad has an effective training and development program, as demonstrated by the findings. The remainder of the paragraph demonstrates that training and development programs have a significant impact on these programs. Nevertheless, despite Nagad's training and development program, the business has room for advancement.

Loan and advance of Agrani Bank Limited
(BRAC University, 12/27/2015) Jahan, Nusrat; Akhter, Rahma
The dynamics of business has crossed its boundaries set decades back and have introduced strong motives of societal well-beings in dispensing business and fiduciary duties. The wind of globalization has also touched Bangladesh and Agrani Bank Limited is being interwoven into the psyche of local businesses. However, the change process is slow and only in its infancy due to not having the proper acceptance at the senior professional ranks or the board. The definition of banking in general terms, the business activity of accepting and safeguarding money owned by other individuals and entities, and then lending out this money in order to earn a profit. The study of ABL in Bangladesh provides a bird's eye view of how banking engagements are being structured and whether banking initiatives are home grown within organizations or being partnered with other specialized entities. A bank executive suggested that banking has been taken one step up at our organization. We call it sustainability and each bank account holder is also being judged whether he/she is responsible to conduct business with this bank or not. Starting in 1995, the company policy is to have a sustainability fund of 0.75% of net profits to show their commitment to sustaining a CSR initiative. In this report, I have chosen Agrani Bank Limited as a sample. In this report I have analyzed and find out the reasons of dispersion of loan and advance.

Foreign exchange & financial performance of EXIM Bank Limited
(BRAC University, 9/14/2014) Jahan, Nusrat; Ahmed, Sreyoshi
This internship report is based on foreign exchange activities that take place in the New Eskaton Branch and on the overall financial performance of the Export Import Bank of Bangladesh Ltd (EXIM). based on four types of ratios namely profitability, liquidity, credit risk, and asset activity ratio. In addition to the above it contains an overview of the organisation as a whole and the tasks that have been performed as part of the role of an intern. Through several interview sessions with an experienced employee, Mr. Tanvir Mohammad Jashim working as a principal officer in the foreign exchange department it has been revealed that the New Eskaton branch performs only two foreign exchange activities namely import and remittance. The process of import occurs by the issuance of a letter of credit by EXIM Bank on behalf of the buyer or importer. An importer must be first eligible to import by making sure that they have an import registration certificate (IRC). The issuance and the mechanism by which letter of credit process occurs consist of a number of steps which have been described in this paper. Due to limitation by Bangladeshi law only one form of remittance is allowed, and hence performed in EXIM Bank, namely inward remittance or the sending of money from abroad to Bangladesh. Outward remittance is allowed only for sending money to people abroad who have a student profile. An in-depth analysis of the various ratios as stated above have depicted that the profitability of EXIM Bank has decreased, the liquidity position has improved, credit risk has lowered and asset activity remained unchanged for the years 2009 to 2013. Overall the New Eskaton Branch of the Export Import Bank of Bangladesh aids only in import by the issuance of a letter of credit and in inward remittance through 4 exchange houses and several drawing agencies. All the financial ratios of EXIM Bank have shown positive changes except for the profitability ratios so EXIM Bank needs to focus on improving this particular ratio.

Bank & Cash management and general accounting of Save the Children International (Bangladesh Country Office)
(BRAC University, 5/24/2012) Jahan, Nusrat; Mursalin, Md. Jabir Al
Save the Children is one of the best welfare organizations for children around the world. It was founded by Eglantyne Jebb on 1919 in England. At present it operates its activities in 120 countries around the world. In Bangladesh it has started its activities since 1972. The mission of this organization is to provide maximum benefits to the underprivileged children of the world. In order to do so they operate different programs around the world, most of these programs are based in the world’s poorest countries, where millions of children struggle to survive and thrive. Health, Population and Nutrition (HPN), Education, Field Operations and Disaster Management are their program focus point. Save the Children has worked through direct implementation and partnerships in many parts of the country, including Dhaka, Chittagong, Barisal, Khulna, Rajshahi and Sylhet divisions. Save the children mainly collect its fund from the individual foundations, government and different corporations, and spends as much money as possible on programs which benefit children directly. To achieve the aim of Save the Children is the mission of finance department of the organization. They are committed to managing the funds in a fully accountable way. Effective administration does cost money, but they try to keep this cost as low as possible. Save the Children is working to align their financial processes, planning and reporting through the transition to one Save the Children where, instead of many member organizations delivering programs in a particular country, there is only one Save the Children organization – bringing significant cost efficiencies in-country as well as across the rest of the organization. This allows them to focus more on working for children. SCI (Save the Children International) does all its financial activities through bank and cash management. So bank and cash management process is very important for running the financial activities efficiently as well as to achieve the goal of the organization. In SCI all bank & cash related activities are accomplished by the accounts & treasury section. SCI has its country office in Bangladesh to operate the regional activities, so after a certain period of time it has to top up its bank and cash balance according to the need determined by the budget & analysis department and operates its all necessary activities through bank and cash management by obliging the SCI fiance policy. Besides as SCI is funded by different government, individual foundations and corporate organizations so to maintain the transparency of their expenditure on different program and activities is another important aspect of finance department. To maintain transparency in the financial activities financial management system (FMS) section records the transactions by using coding attribute in an online spreadsheet (Agresso) for keeping record and generating report for various users. This section also reconciles the bank account and the SCI account on order to ensure the accuracy of the financial activities of the organization.
