The increasing cost being the primary driver for off-shoring IT services provision from the West to the East. The increasing field of development and pioneer technology, with new service delivery paradigms like cloud computing and multiple sourcing, is set to transform the ITES industry globally. Over recent years, Bangladesh has made major strides in laying the groundwork for a diverse and successful IT services market. For my internship program as part of my curriculum on Bachelor of Business Administration at Independent University, Bangladesh I was assigned to work as an intern in n-Tier Solutions Ltd. for a period of two months starting from March 2010 and ending in April 2010. There I was placed under direct supervision of the Managing Director of the company Mr. Mustafa Zuhair Ibn Yahya as as most of my work orders were to come from him. I was also signed to Sumon Sarker, Chief Design Engineer at n-Tier Solutions Ltd later on for assistance to the design and program construction phases of development of projects at work. With the office located in Uttara, although a stipulated office time was discussed, however, the nature of work involved demanded for a different approach, to remain active until work at hand was completed within given deadlines and sometimes involved field visits to different locations from where the client would operate, sometimes to provide skilled physical assistance and in other times to attend pre-arranged meetings with clients, for example, to gain information regarding changes that the client would appreciate. The report as created below will discuss on a number of topics starting with the company’s operations to its role play in the growing sector of Information Technology in the context of the current status of software and web development companies operating from within Bangladesh and my involvement in the processes to include my contributions to the company throughout my period of internship. Most of the information collected to compile this report was gained as primary data through experience and discussions with the working members of the office and the clients I was privileged to meet. However there are large sections in this document that contains information collected through secondary data collection means. Most information regarding the company’s profile as well as some of the clients’ information was collected through secondary data.

A Working repor on the CRM Department At BRAC Bank Limited
(School of Business, Independent University, Bangladesh, 2012-05-01) Hussain, Marzuk
This is the internship report based on the three month long Internship Program that I successfully completed in BRAC Bank Limited under The Credit Risk Management Department (CRM) as a requirement of the BBA Program of Independent University, Bangladesh. As a fresh starter of the whole new corporate world this experience has given me a wide range of knowledge about the world that I am about to step in. The report is about how the CRM department is divided, how it functions and how the work of this particular department is carried forward. As this is a Working Report, the report also gives an idea about the work I had to do in this three month period and the responsibilities that I had to perform as a team player. With careful supervision of the department my job was even made easier as I always had some personnel’s to help me out or train me in whichever step I got stuck. I also had the opportunity to work with every side of the department and gained huge experience. Some accounting courses in the BBA program was very helpful as I had to work on the balance sheet and income statement of certain companies. Working on the loan Product ‘Shompod’ was also very challenging as it’s a big responsibility to figure out which client should be permitted to avail the loan. Checking out the details of the clients and making sure that it’s a genuine client by looking at their past records and legal documents were also a part of the job. With very limited knowledge I tried my level best to make the report as understandable as possible and tried to put everything that I have done and experienced on this document.

PERFORMANCE EVALUATION STUDY OF MERCHANDISING OF FGS KNITWEAR LIMITED: A READY MADE GARMENTS
(INDEPENDENT UNIVERSITY, BANGLADESH, 2012-05-01) Ahmad, Naveed
Merchandising department is the star of the department among all the working departments in the Export concern, because it is the only department having maximum control over the departments and total responsible for profit and loss of the company. After LPG (Liberalization, Privatization & Globalization) the business gets more important and now merchandising is on its hot seats. So, it is necessary to understand the day to day happenings of the star department. In the field of marketing and services, Merchandiser is at a position of utmost importance, He is the person who co-ordinates with various departments for a uniform business. It denotes all the planned activities to execute and dispatch the merchandise on time, taking into consideration of the 4 Rs to replenish the customer. Right Quantity, Right Quality, Right Cost and Right Time is what they have to deal with. FGS Knitwear Limited is engaged in processing raw fabric to finished products and exports these products to different countries. Its factory is situated in Savar, Dhaka and head office is in Uttara Model Town. I worked in the factory and paid occasional visits to the head office in order to cope up with the production process. I worked with almost all the departments; especially in Accounts and Finance Department, Marketing Department, Import and Export Department and Merchandising Department The research was structured on a number of objectives. Research starts with an overview of the merchandising department of FGS Knitwear Limited. After the global financial crisis, customer’s perception has become as a most important and sensitive issue of companies. It is of course not just important for garments. It is something that needs to be addressed in relation to all companies. This report is done because there was no research found on merchandising on individual garment specifically FGS Knitwear Limited. This paper will aim to find out that whether the perception of customer differ towards price of a product and advertising and promotion and whether any variability in salary affects the merchandising performance. The significance of this study is that now a particular research gap will be filled up and it will indicate if any further related research is needed or not. I have tried my best to complete this research but there are some limitations. I expect that those unintentional mistakes should be overlooked.

ASSESSING KNOWLEDGE SHARING BEHAVIOUR AMONG EMPLOYEES IN PERSPECTIVE OF GRAMMEN PHONE CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPERTMENT
(INDEPENDENT UNIVERSITY, BANGLADESH, 2012-05-01) Mukhles, Imran Ahmed Al
Knowledge sharing among employees is very much important as recently there are many organizations that are encouraging knowledge sharing behavior among employees in order to meet the organizations goal or objectives. Knowledge sharing basically helps employees to new understanding their jobs and it also brings personal recognition within the department. There are certain other parameters such as commitment, reward system, culture, social interaction, trust and technology which are related to knowledge sharing. The commitment of the employees in the organization is one of the key issues in making the employees to share their knowledge. When employees levels of commitment is high then they are more willing and work effectively for organization. Reward is also one of the effective factors which will encourage people to share knowledge with others. Knowledge is shared only because monetary values are obtained if it is withdrawn then knowledge sharing behavior will decline. In an organization with knowledge sharing culture, people would share their ideas and exchange knowledge with others because they treat this culture as natural, rather than they are force to share their knowledge with others. Many organizations encourage motivating their employees to interact more among them by providing rest rooms or provide food or drinks for them in order to develop the social interaction. Many people are willing to share their knowledge with others if they feel that the person is honest and can be trusted. Hence, high level of interpersonal trust correlates with high levels or willingness to knowledge sharing. Through technology, employees not only can share their knowledge internally but they can share even across a wide geographical separation. Technology makes people easily to access and more willing to share their knowledge because it suits for those who are shy or very busy and prefer to avoid face to face interaction. The research basically intends to investigate the relationship of knowledge sharing among employees related to commitment, culture, social interaction, trust and technology in perspective of Grammen Phone Customer service department. It is a correlation study, which is measured among the studied variables stated: commitment, reward system, culture, social interaction, trust, technology and knowledge sharing. The sample for the study was the employees of Grammen Phone Customer Service Department. The questionnaires were distributed among 80 respondents and all the questionnaires have been taken as the data for the study. The analysis of the data was done with a statistical tool which is SPSS version 12. The correlation analysis was performed in order to assess the hypothesis. The value of alpha, mean and standard deviation was also even found. The value of alpha proves that the questionnaires are very much appropriate in order to progress the research. Therefore focusing on the contract center of Grammen Phone, the current study was meaningful to assess the knowledge sharing behavior among employees.
