The evolution of retail banking and its potential through digital financial services (DFS) of The City Bank

Abstract

The internship report has information about my work at The City Bank‘s Retail banking division at the time of my 3 months internship. This report consists of comprehensive research on utilization of DFS (Digital Financial Service) for Retail Banking smooth operations, in which the bank uses strategy and technology to get customers getting used to with the technological aspect of banking for easy and fast banking service. I had been working since 08 June 2022 to 07 September 2022. It gave me opportunity on not only to involve myself and understand banking processes in Bangladesh but also identify the thought process of establishing new way of doing banking in digitalized manner. In the beginning, this report represents my work experience of City bank in a descriptive manner. Additionally, it involves the information about the organization such as – overview, data and other essential information regarding it‘s functionality. Moreover, this report focuses on recognizing the importance of Digitalization of retail banking to make banking processes easier. After that, it displays the analysis of competitiveness and industrial positioning which can help the bank to identify its weak-points and work on it. Finally, it can help to direct the bank establish strong competitiveness and improve different ways digitalizing banking.
