Abstract

A signal phase inverter is designed and constructed to provide regulated output voltage at 220v. The output power stage is designed in two methods first one is using four power transformer in H-bridge mode to the load through a transformer, and another one is two NMOS power transistors coupled to the load through a transformer. The output is a 50Hz square wave which is obtained by totem-pole driver operation of two transistors using 50 Hz complementary trigger pulse stream for first method. And for the second method 50Hz square wave is obtained using a single PNP transistor. The inverter is constructed and presented. The circuit is tested and it is found that the waveforms obtained at different stages of the circuit conform well to those obtained by computer simulation. The inverter circuit is found to be efficient for applications in appliances.
