| dc.description.abstract | Bangladesh is one of the poorest and most densely populated countries in the world. The country’s economic growth has been severely affected by the political unrest and natural disasters occurring here. Local experts estimate that one third of all children do not have parental care or are at risk of losing it. Children are the most vulnerable individuals getting badly affected by the crisis and conflicts happening around the world. SOS’s unique approach makes it different from the other orphanages noted by Gmeiner, "What orphaned and abandoned children need first and foremost is a family - a family in which they can develop normally." | |
