Abstract

The personnel training and development process of Delonix International Limited is being discussed in a detailed manner in this internship report. The main aims of the report were to assess effectiveness of training programs, how well they relate with organizational vision and provide recommendations to improve HRD strategies. The growth and development throughout the internship are also discussed. During my internship, I worked in the HR and Training Division where I had the opportunity to attend a variety of training courses being organized and conducted. The company emphasizes technical and role-specific training to ensure employees learn the skills they need in order to be successful at their jobs. Employee skill and confidence were dramatically higher following program sessions such as vendor-led programs, hands-on workshops, and new hire orientations. It was however evident that leadership development, cross department training and soft skills were underplayed – which indicated areas to focus on. The study indicates the strength and weakness of Delonix training system. Organized training programme, efficient technical training, guidance and link with the operational purposes are some of its characteristics. Some of the main weaknesses are insufficient soft skills training, low program participation, dependence on external vendors, and insufficient assessment of long-term impact. Increasing the availability of soft skills and leadership training programs, including digital learning platforms; strengthening feedback mechanisms; and linking training to advancement again are cited as potential ways to bridge them. Also the impact of training on motivation and retention, problems of providing effective training and HR managers and supervisors in employees’ development are discussed. For successful human resource development outcomes, the importance has been emphasized that personal reflection on professional learning, structured HRD processes and organizational culture be aligned. The general recommendation which could be made according to the report is that in spite of the already well-established training and development structure of Delonix International Limited, strategic improvements can augment their level of performance, commitment and long- term scheme progress. The findings and recommendations of the report provide valuable information on improving the agency's HRD planning and on compiling a more comprehensive, effective, and enduring training strategy.
