Abstract

Curaterr solution(0.2%), standard extracts of Bashak leaf (Adhatoda vasica), Pineapple (Ananas sp.) and Mustard oil-cake (Brassica campestris) were tested against root-knot of Brinjal caused by Meloidogyne javanica . Among the treatments, Curaterr solution(0.2%), gave the highest response followed by Bashak leaf extract in plant growth like shoot length, root length, shoot weight, root weight, yield characters like fruit number and fruit weight consequently with the suppressed development of gall. Mustard oil cake extract resulted higher response in increasing plant growth than Pineapple extract. Negative correlations observed between galling incidence with shoot length, root length, shoot weight, root weight, fruit number and fruit weight of Brinjal indicated the better action of Curaterr and plant extracts on the suppression of the nematode activity.
