Abstract

This internship project examines renewable energy practices in Bangladesh through a detailed case study of Teesta Solar Limited, one of the country’s largest utility-scale solar power projects. The report documents the company’s profile, plant layout and components, operational practices, grid integration, environmental and socio-economic impacts, and challenges faced during construction and operation. The research combines on-site observation, interviews with engineers, company documents provided during the internship, and secondary literature on Bangladesh’s renewable energy landscape. Findings indicate that large-scale solar projects, such as Teesta Solar, can play a pivotal role in Bangladesh’s energy transition, still they require supportive policies, strong grid management, and continuous technical capacity building. The report concludes with recommendations for Teesta Solar and policymakers to maximize the benefits of renewable energy while mitigating environmental and operational risks.
