Abstract
This report examines the Recruitment and Selection Process of Corus Fashion Ltd., a leading ready-made garment (RMG) manufacturer in Bangladesh. The purpose of this study is to understand how the company attracts, evaluates, and appoints qualified personnel to meet its operational and strategic needs. Corus Fashion Ltd. operates within the highly competitive RMG sector, where efficiency, compliance, and skilled human resources are key to maintaining international standards. The company’s human resource management practices emphasize ethical recruitment, equal opportunity, and workforce competence. Recruitment at Corus Fashion is carried out both for factory-level operational roles and office-based managerial or merchandising positions. The recruitment process begins with workforce planning and job analysis, followed by job advertisements published through the company website, notice boards, and sometimes local recruitment drives. Applicants submit their CVs or application forms, which are screened by the HR department. Shortlisted candidates then undergo written, oral, or practical tests, depending on the position. This is followed by interviews conducted by HR and departmental heads to assess technical expertise, attitude, and cultural fit. After successful evaluation, candidates are required to undergo medical and background checks to ensure compliance with the company’s ethical and safety policies. Selected candidates receive appointment letters outlining their employment terms, followed by an orientation program to familiarize them with the company’s culture, policies, and safety standards. The study found that the recruitment process at Corus Fashion Ltd. is systematic and compliance-focused, aligning with international labor and ethical trading standards. However, like many firms in the RMG sector, there is scope for improvement in areas such as digital record keeping, employee feedback systems, and structured performance-based assessments during probation periods. Overall, Corus Fashion Ltd.’s recruitment and selection process ensures that the company attracts skilled and motivated employees, supporting its vision of being a reliable and socially responsible apparel manufacturer in Bangladesh
