Abstract

This report is made for examining the operational bottlenecks created from the existing web-based portal for the freight management used by the Cargo Point Team, with proper solutions that can create improvements in security, usability and workflow efficiency. This following paper figures out the issue via direct system usage, discussions with the operational staffs, personal observations from documentations and operational processes like Bill of lading issuance, invoice preparation and other such things, finding out problems like delays in the system navigation, inconsistent data output, absence of a structured and strong authentication controls and interface complexity towards new users (new users have to get intensive training in order to just run the system). The project evaluates all these issues with the industry practices and employee suggestions and recommends enhancements, including redesigning the UI flows, automation of data fields, integration of encrypted login mechanisms, structured dashboard elements alongside consistent performance of the web interface (e.g. consistent Bill of Lading issuance). These proposed improvements will aim towards strengthening the data reliability, reduction of operational delays and creating a more user-centric system that will improve organizational efficiency.
