A REPORT ON THE COMPARATIVE PERFORMANCE OF LAYER (HISEX BROWN) AND BROILER (HUBBARD CLASSIC) PARENT STOCK OVER HATCHABILITY WITH THEIR MANAGEMENT STRATEGY OF PAHARIKA BREEDING FARM, CHITTAGONG.

Abstract

The study was carried out in Paharika Poultry Breeder Farm and Hatchery , Fatickchari , Chittagong during my placement period of 13/06/09 to 04/07/09. The study was conducted to know the overall management like housing, feeding, lighting, breeding, diseases control practices and overall hatchery management like egg collection , storage, selection, grading and disinfections of hatching eggs, preparation of the incubator ( both setter and Hatcher ), turning and candling of eggs, hatchability performance of Hisex Brown Layer Parent Stock and Hubbard Classic Broiler Parent stock and comparative hatchability study between them. Data were collected by face to face interview through visiting the hatchery. Hatchability % varies due to age of the flock, operating system of the incubator. Average hatchability % of Hisex Brown Layer Parent Stock is- 91.98% and Hubbard Classic Broiler Parent stock is- 82.00%.
