The Rangpur Cultural Center seeks to meet the city of Rangpur's rich history and folk culture preservation needs. Through community involvement, this center can aid in the preservation and exhibition of Rangpur's traditional arts, crafts, music, dance, and cultural heritage. The word "folks" comes from "folklore," which is the expressive body of way of life that a particular group of people shares. It includes customs that may be unique to that community, subculture, or way of life. As a result, the Rangpur Folk Center can contribute to the revival of both the city's historic aesthetic preferences and attributes as well as modern popular culture.
