Abstract

The primary objective of this study was to analyze the factors that influence job satisfaction and their impacts on employee motivation at the Social Islami Bank Limited (Foreign Exchange Branch). A survey and interviews were conducted with 19 employees of SIBL to gain insights into their job satisfaction levels and the elements that contribute to their motivation. The findings revealed that 94.7% of employees believed job satisfaction had a positive impact on their motivation. Key factors such as managerial support, compensation, career advancement opportunities, recognition, work-life balance etc. were explored in this study. While employees felt motivated by the constructive feedback and recognition, other areas like managerial support, unclear career growth opportunities, and underutilization of the skills of employees emerged as the major areas for improvement. Recommendations to enhance the job satisfaction and motivation include improving managerial guidance, ensuring fair compensation, aligning job roles with employees’ skills, and creating clear pathways for their career development. Addressing these areas will contribute to a more engaged, productive workforce and improve the overall performance of SIBL’s Foreign Exchange Branch.
