Item A COMPARATIVE STUDY ON MANAGEMENT OF COBB 500 BROILER PARENT STOCK IN KEARI POULTRY HATCHERY & PROCESS LTD. WITH STANDARD MANAGEMENT SYSTEM.(Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Khulshi-Ctg, 2014-03) Abedin Nanno, MinhajulA study was carried out on overall management of cobb500 broiler breeder parent stock to know their biosecurity, housing pattern ,brooding, feeding, vaccination, hatchery management & all sorts of activities practiced in KEARI poultry hatchery & process Ltd, by observing one selected flock ( No-32) containing 11,000 parent stock from 21th Oct to 20th November,2013.The birds were provided with identical care & management like feeding, watering , ventilation, lighting, vaccination & disease control programme Results shows that biosecurity were poorly maintained ,housing pattern were environmentally controlled where slat cum litter systems were followed with rice husk as a litter material. The egg production achieved at 25th weeks of age was 4.56% which was lower than recommended production i.e. 5.5%. The peak production was 86.79% achieved at 31th week of age. There were 2% less egg production than standard. The maximum hatchability% was observed 88.6% at 35th week of age. Hatchability were always lower than standard. There are insignificant amount of differences between the standard body wt gain & achieved body wt gain. Cobb 500 broiler breeder parent stocks are adaptable under Bangladesh condition if environmental stress could be minimized by taking appropriate measures & breeders management guide.
