Item Primary User Emulation Attack (PUEA) In Cognitive Radio Network (CRN)(East West University, 8/1/2015) Rahman, Mohammad Hanif; Hossain, Md. MerazIn Cognitive Radio Networks the primary goal of the secondary users is to detect the presence of primary user. Different types of detection techniques are prevalent like average energy detection of sample data, matched filter based energy detection and Bayesian approach of prior and posterior modeling of average signal. The situation becomes cumbersome in case of presence of malicious users especially primary user emulator. In this project work we deal with detection of primary user emulator attack (PUEA) based on threshold energy detection model where exponential path loss model is used in a small region, where both secondary user and PUEA are randomly distributed and Okumura-Hata model for long links of secondary user and primary user. Finally we plot the lower bound of probability of PUEA against unoccupied distance of PUEA.Item Energy Detection in Cognitive Radio Network (CRN) under Rayleigh Nakagami-m Fading Channels(East West University, 12/2/2014) Akter, Shirin; Hossain, MohammadThe performance of a Cognitive radio network depends on, how successfully the Secondary User (SU) can detect the present of Primary User (PU) and recognize the false alarm arises from interferences. In this research project, we determine the profile of probability of detection and probability of false alarm of a Secondary User under Rayleigh and Nakagami-m fading channels. Here, we use the combination of fading and Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) as the impairments of the signal. We detect both the above parameters analytically and verified by Monte Carlo Simulation. The analytical and simulation results are found very closed to each other.Item DWDM network design on BdREN Network System (Transmission network)(East West University, 12/31/2014) Shamsuddin, A. N. M.; Hasan, Md. MehediDense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) is regarded as one of the newest transmission technology in optical fiber communication system. It gives us new era of communication. It is an emerging technology which will minimize the cost and afford of working. However, there are some challenges to design the DWDM system. DWDM techniques increase the current capacity up-to device total capacity. Though it is a new technology it already gives a big impression in the industry. In this design we are try to ensure an optimum network which has ensure security with maximum transmission. Anyone can design DWDM network on TDM transmission system. So it has vast application on transmission system.Item Research Project on Design Simulation and Performance analysis of Slotantenna(East West University, 1/1/2015) Mohamed, Abdifatah Isak; Ishaq, Osman MohamedThe necessity of wide-band wireless communications technology is increasing rapidly to support more users and provide information with higher data transmission rates. The most suitable technology that gives high data rate could be Ultra-wide band (UWB) and among various types of antennas, slot antenna is considered for use in UWB applications because of its ease of analysis and fabrication, low cost, light Weight, easy to feed and their attractive radiation characteristics. Although slot antenna has numerous advantages, it has also some drawbacks such as limited bandwidth, and a potential decrease in radiation pattern. Different techniques for bandwidth enhancement of slot antenna are anticipated in this project. By keeping either of length or width, the percentage bandwidth varies. As the percentage Bandwidth increases, the slot width decreases. Similar analysis is also shown in figure 4.2, which indicates that small range of slot length (13cm to 14cm) the percentage Bandwidth is much higher. This result is compared to other research findings. This project shows bandwidth values up to 44% where as other research outcome is 50.2%. The antenna achieved good bandwidth with an overall dimension of 13cm to 14cm with frequency of 1GHz. HFSS Software is used for the simulation and design calculation of slot antenna.Item IPTV Video Streaming in Content Distribution Network(East West University, 4/22/2014) Ahmed, Dawood; Hasan, Md.KaimonInternet Protocol Television (IPTV) is regarded as one of the biggest business opportunities in infonnation and telecommunication industry. It is an emerging technology which is getting popular day by day. However, there are some challenges to "deploy successfully the. services in tenns of technologies, management, and regulation policy. Among the problems, particularly, how to distribute IPTV content efficiently is one of critical problems because traffic overflow could not be dealt with existing IP network capacity when the number of IPTV services and content increase enormously in the near future. It is also important maintain good quality of service. Content Distribution/Content Delivery Network (CDN) is considered as one solution.CDN replicates the same content from the_ origin server and distributes them to replica servers which are close to end users. IPTV services can be provided fast and reliably using CDN. The main contributions of this thesis includes Study on IPTV, Video streaming and CDN network and including type of service of IPTV. Protocols and encoding for IPTV video streaming. Overview on CDN network and how IPTV can be integrated in CDN. We have also compared CDN with other alternative topologies for IPTV video streaming, network design for practical Implementation and finally the market analysis for CDN network.Item A Comparative Study of EMI Shielding Efficiency of Metal and Single Walled Carbon Nanotubes(East West University, 8/7/2014) Swarup, Bhuiyan Ahmed ImtiajAssembling of a large number of high frequency electronic devices in a congested area has gradually been increased. This creates electromagnetic interference (EMI) which causes malfunctioned or abnormal operation devices: For this reason 'mote and more 'effective EMI shielding is required among the devices. Moreover, to minimize the health hazards from the electromagnetic radiation from high frequency devices like cell phones., proper effective shielding should be used for those devices. Nowadays metal is the mostly used EMI shielding material. Metal based shielding materials have heavy weight. They also suffer from mechanical 'corrosion and 'erosion. Due to tower thermal -conductivity ,they cannot be used in a hot environment, where rapid heat dissipation is necessary. The aim of this thesis is to compare the EMIshielding efficiency of Metal with that of Single Walled Carbon Nanotubes (SWCNT). For that purpose we derived the analytical expressions for the shielding efficiency of any materials. From the results obtained in this work, it is found that SWCNT offers better EM! -shielding efficiency than that 'Of metal {copper and stainless -steel). -Compared with metal, SWCNT offers much less weight, higher thermal conductivity and mechanically hard. Therefore" SWCNT can be the best option as an EMI shielding materials instead of Meta.Item Distributed Cooperative Space Time Trellis Code(East West University, 9/25/2014) Rahman, Saidur; Ansary, SabbirThe wireless communications industry has been undergoing tremendous changes in the last few years. There has been a spectacular growth in the internet and mobile communication services in the last decade. Wireless Internet and multimedia services are introduced in the 3G mobile phones, require much higher data rates than those available with current radio technology. Video telephony and picture messaging introduced by 3G phones generate huge up link traffic. Given a limited Spectrum the only way to support high data rates is to develop new spectrally efficient radio communication techniques. It was shown recently that multiple input multiple output (MIMO) system have a potential to significantly increase spectral efficiency in the wireless communications. Space Time codes are practical techniques used to approach the theoretical MIMO spectral efficiencies Unfortunately uplink transmit diversity is not directly applicable to the cellular due to the small size of the mobile station and electromagnetic interaction of antenna elements on the small platform. Furthermore the channels corresponding to different antennas are correlated because of the miniature size of the mobile phone. So, there is a need for such ideas to be extended to the macroscopic arena, where space-time coding is performed over transmit antennas that are not necessarily co-located. Mobile antennas are omni directional. Signals transmitted towards the destination can be "overheard" at the other MTs(partner). Partners (Adjacent MTs). process this overheard information and re-transmit towards the destination. These Partnering mobiles form a Virtual Antenna Array. This approach successfully gives solution to the problem of just one receiving antenna in a handset. In our proposed scheme space-time trellis coding is performed over transmit antennas that are not necessarily co-located. The Idea is called Distributed Space Time Trellis Coding. Cooperative Distributed Space Time Trellis Coding have also been analyzed to increase the performance of Distributed Space Time Code.Item Network Configuration and VolP Load Balancing of Golden Telecom(East West University, 9/8/2014) Roy, SoumenInternet is the groundbreaking discovery of 20th century. In this epoch of modernization we have observed massive development of the internet as well as the different programs supported by it. The aspect of VolP comes at a stage when Telecommunications structure has hitherto turned into a complicated system accompanied by numerous challenging frameworks. VolP significantly increases the ingrained difficulty by bearing a technology that allows various frameworks for conveying the identical voice and data service while remaining cynic to the key infrastructure. The Internet Service Provides are facing huge load to ensure the appropriate services to their customers. But the bandwidth is limited for the vast number of users of the internet. So the traffic needs to be engineered to utilize them resultantly. Multipath routing is a common term in Traffic Engineering which is used to balance the load in the company of different gateways. The objective of this thesis is to configure the network to improve network reliability, to configure a Quintum Tenor Gateway and to implement load balancing for Golden Telecom Pte. Ltd. which will ensure no disconnection or outage. A network simulator is used to run the unit tests against the configuration to ensure operation ability of the configuration to deploy. This project would help to ensure the proper and simultaneous usage of internet by not wasting any bandwidth.
