STEADY RADIATIVE FREE CONVECTIVE FLOW ALONG A VERTICAL FLAT PLATE IN THE PRESENCE OF MAGNETIC FIELD
(Daffodil International University, 2011-07-01) Karim, Md. Enamul; Uddin, M. J.
Steady two-dimensional Magneto hydrodynamic free convection flow with thermal radiation in the presence of magnetic field along a vertical flat plate is concerned in the present study. The fluid is taken to be gray, absorbing-emitting radiation. The non-linear governing equations have been transformed by the usual similarity transformation to a system of ordinary differential equations. These dimensionless similar equations are then solved numerically employing the Nachtsheim-Swigert shooting iteration technique along with sixth order Runge-Kutta integration scheme. Finally the effects of the pertinent parameters are examined.

(Daffodil International University, 2011-07-01) Rahman, Md. Zaidur; Azad, Md. Abul Kalam; Hasan, Md. Nazmul
    At first, we recall the basic concept, By a residual lattice is meant an algebra L = (L,¡ý,¡ü,.,o,0,1) such that (i) L = (L,¡ý,¡ü,0,1) is a bounded lattice, (ii) L = (L,.,1) is a commutative monoid, (iii) it satisfies the so-called adjoin ness property: (x ¡ý y) . z = y if and only if y ¡Â z ¡Â x o y Let us note [7] that x ¡ý y is the greatest element of the set (x ¡ý y) . z = y Moreover, if we consider x . y = x ¡ü y , then x o y is the relative pseudo-complement of x with respect to y, i. e., for . = ¡ü residuated lattices are just relatively pseudo-complemented lattices. The identities characterizing sectionally pseudocomplemented lattices are presented in [3] i.e. the class of these lattices is a variety in the signature {¡ý,¡ü,o,1}. We are going to apply a similar approach for the adjointness property:

POWER SYSTEM STABILIZATION BY FUZZY SET THEORY BASED CONTROL OF SMES
(Daffodil International University, 2011-07-01) Sheikh, Md. Rafiqul Islam; Takahashi, Rion; Tamura, Junji
At present fuzzy logic control is receiving increasing emphasis in process control applications. The paper describes the application of fuzzy logic control in a power system that uses a 12- pulse bridge converter associated with Superconductive Magnetic Energy Storage (SMES) unit. The fuzzy control is used in both the frequency and voltage control loops, replacing the conventional control method. The control algorithms have been developed in detail and simulation results are presented. These results clearly indicate the superior performance of fuzzy control during the dynamic period of energy transfer between the power system and SMES unit.

PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF COOPERATIVE RELAYING IN NAKAGAMI-M FADING CHANNELS
    (Daffodil International University, 2011-07-01) Barua, B.; Sarkar, M. Z. I.
This paper is concerned with the analysis of exact symbol error probability (SEP) for cooperative diversity using amplify-and-forward (AF) relaying over independent and non-identical Nakagami-m fading channels. The mathematical formulations for Probability Density Function (pdf) and Moment Generating Function (MGF) of a cooperative link have been derived for calculating symbol error probability with well-known MGF based approach taking M-ary Phase Shift Keying (MPSK) signals as input. The numerical results obtained from this research have been compared with different fading conditions. It is observed that the existence of the diversity link in a relay network plays a dominating role in error performance.

INTRODUCTION OF INTERSECTING GILLING MACHINE IN JUTE PROCESSING FOR MAKING JUTE AND BLENDED YARN
(Daffodil International University, 2011-07-01) Miazi, Md. Osman Ghani; Mahabubuzzaman, A.K.M.; Maniruzzaman, Mohammad; Anwer, Md. Masroor
The study was aim to determine the suitability of intersecting gilling machine in jute processing system. In this regard the machine was used for processing of jute fibre to yarn [1]. The third drawing sliver passed through the intersecting gilling of GN5 type into 4:1 input –output ratio of slivers. Yarns spun by this slivers through different types of spinning frame. Quality ratio of jute yarns produced from different spinning machines were measured. These were for Hessian Spinning machine is 84.17%, Apron draft spinning frame is 88.59% and Spingard spinning frame 96.34%. However for medium count jute-polypropylene blended yarn, the quality ratios are between 102- 112 and yarns were spun by hessian spinning frame. These results compared with the yarn produced through conventional jute spinning system (except intersecting Gilling machine, table 2). Findings of the study indicate a new era for the jute processing by using intersecting Gilling machine. It is observed that the introduction of Intersecting Gilling machine has a potential prospect in jute processing for making fine jute yarn.

IMPROVEMENT OF THE TEXT DEPENDENT SPEAKER IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM USING DISCRETE MMM WITH CEPSTRAL BASED FEATURES
(Daffodil International University, 2011-07-01) Islam, Md. Rabiul; Rahman, Md. Fayzur; Khan, 3Muhammad Abdul Goffar
In this paper, an improved strategy for automated text based speaker identification scheme has been proposed. The identification process incorporates the Hidden Markov Model technique. After preprocessing the speech, HMM is used in the learning and identification. Features are extracted by different techniques such as RCC, MFCC, ÄMFCC, ÄÄMFCC, LPC and LPCC which is almost different in each case. The highest identification rate of 93% has been achieved in the close set text dependent speaker identification system.

EFFECT OF STRENGTH ON COTTON AND BLENDED MATTRESS FABRIC PRODUCED BY MECHANICAL PROCESSING SYSTEM
(Daffodil International University, 2011-07-01) Kalam, Md. Abul; Jafrin, Shamina; Haque, Md. Tahzibul
Mattress fabric is one time used fabric. It need not require for washing. In this perspective, a project was taken to replace 100% cotton mattress fabric instead of Jute-Cotton blended mattress fabric. It is seen that Jute: Cotton blended mattress fabric posses similar properties to the 100% cotton mattress fabric. Bursting strength is an important factor for mattress fabric. From the comparison result, it is also seen that the bursting strength of 80:20/Jute: Cotton blended mattress fabric is nearer to the 100% cotton mattress fabric. On the other hand, blended mattress fabric is cheaper than 100% Cotton mattress fabric. Hence, blended mattress fabric may be the replacement of 100% cotton mattress fabric.

EFFECT OF BLEND RATION ON QUALITY CHARACTERISTICS OF BAMBOO/COTTON BLENDED RING SPUN YARN
    (Daffodil International University, 2011-07-01) Prakash, C; Ramakrishnan, G; Koushik, C V
The present study reveals the comparison of physical properties of the bamboo/cotton blended yarn with similar 100 % cotton yarn. The bamboocotton blend ratios of each category of yarn (30s, 40s and 50s) were 67:33, 50:50, and 33:67, respectively. For each individual count of yarn, it was observed from the test result that the properties of 50:50/bamboo: cotton blended yarn showed very nearer property to the 100% cotton yarn. For Count (30s), 67:33/bamboo: cotton showed very closer property to the 50:50/bamboo: cotton blended yarn. It was also observed that for each count of yarns, which showed decreasing property with the increase of bamboo in the blend. The quality characters depend upon the ratio of bamboo and cotton in the blend

COMPARING OPTICAL PACKET SWITCHING AND OPTICAL BURST SWITCHING
(Daffodil International University, 2011-07-01) Waheed, Sajjad
The switching is an important part of the telecommunication networks over the years for transferring and handling voice and data through the traditional switching nodes existing in the telecommunication networks. Various developments were seen in the recent years which resulted in increasing data transfer capabilities of the transmission networks all over the world, however the switching speed and techniques are still remained unchanged in most of the cases that neither match the data transfer capacities nor the expanding demand of the networks in the near future. Some switching technologies are still in the developing stage, of them two are more obvious: Optical Packet Switching (OPS) and Optical Burst Switching (OBS). In this paper, I tried to compare different paradigm of these two main developments, keeping in mind that the OPS would see rapid development in the near future than the OBS, though OBS would the ultimate solution of switching for the bulk volume of telephone and data traffic
