Item নগর ভবন DHAKA NORTH CITY CORPORATION(2022-03) MAHBOOB, FOUZIACity halls are vital to the overriding functionality of a place and impact our lives every day, yet they often have no physical connection with the general public, standing as urban ornaments that can appear more like abstract symbols than vibrant civic hubs. They must work as practical vessels that facilitate complex municipal tasks each day, but cannot avoid their secondary function: to stand as advertisements for the cities they are situated in and form a telling metaphor for the city council’s relationship with their civilian population. The issue can be achieved by designing buildings and external spaces that more closely integrate administrative buildings with the public realm. At present the Dhaka North City Corporation is functioning in a multistoried building situated in Gulshan-2 circle. The office currently owns only 25% of the building and the rest is rented-out commercial space which does not belong to DNCC authority. Such a limited space is not sufficient for a city corporation head office to function. . The project is to design a fully functional headquarter building for Dhaka North City Corporation, providing maximum facilities for the municipal authority to function, as well as for the citizens to visit and enjoy having a space for their own: their Nagar Bhaban. To carry out this research, the researcher had to study the relevant literatures such as: History of City halls, Birth of Democracy, Concept of City halls, Role of City Halls in the life of citizens, local and international case studies, standard studies from BNBC etc.Item RETHIKING THE AMBIENCE OF PRISON DESIGN OF A DISTRICT JAIL, THAKURGAON.(2022-03) ALAM, MOHAMMAD ASHRAFULThe ideas of crime and discipline have continuously been a portion of culture in Bangladesh all through its records. In this country the acts acknowledged as ‘crime’ and the punishments enforced upon convict for their wrongdoing have been very brutal, harsh and inhumane in every way through out its time. But at present-day an attempted to utilize discipline for directing positive ‘norms’ as an alternative than frightening has been started. The prison system is to build into a rehabilitation system which will enable an individual to be civilized and contributing towards the society while re-entering. A convicted person can be turned into positively motivated and disciplined individual through Architectural reconsideration in space, spatial impact and organized arrangement. With changing time, the attitude for the correction facilities of these people has to be changed to have a better and civilized society.Item ABODE OF HOPE A CENTRE FOR THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED CHILDREN, GAZIPUR(2022-03) ABIR, MD. HASIBUL HASANIn this thesis, the study of the problems the visually impaired people face in various environments and the architectural solutions to minimize them are described. Architectural practice has long been dominated by the sight. While architects consider universal access in most cases, consideration of the experience of a disabled person inside the building is yet to be practiced in mainstream architectural practice. There has not been much recognition of the growing understanding of the multisensory nature of the human mind that has emerged from the field of cognitive neuroscience research. Persons with disabilities are more likely to experience economic and social disadvantages than those without disabilities. Regarding this issue, there are no fully equipped disabled centers in Bangladesh. The design process considers the suitability of the site, and necessary functions and the main aim of the project is to make people conscious of universal accessibility and make blind children a part of our social and cultural activity which will, in turn, make these children more strong, honest and self-confident. The visually impaired children need education and proper guidance to live independently. Thus, the importance of this project cannot be neglected as it will uplift a part of the society which has been held back because of the lack of proper training. Architecture has the power to create a specific space for them and change their lives. This center will aim to better the lives of these visually impaired children who are greatly neglected.Item JUVENILE CORRECTION AND REHABILITATION CENTER: RANGUNIA, CHATTOGRAM(2022-03) NASHIN, NUSAIBADue to rapid industrialization, urbanization and change in the social attitude, the number of juvenile delinquency have increased to a great extent. The aim of Juvenile Detention Center is to rehabilitate and protected young offenders from adult offender’s influence. The main goal of this space is to treat young offenders to a point where they are less tempted to repeat their delinquent behavior and they become productive members of society. To achieve this, a number of smaller goals listed. The juveniles organize in smaller groups and the designed space organize according to the cycle of time that they have to spend in this complex. The space also must have the quality to influence and motivated them to rethink about their life and give them a hope and light to see the right track of life. This thesis interrogates Juvenile Correctional and Rehabilitation facilities as an architectural typology, and explores their design philosophy and its effects. It investigates the architectural and spatial ualities that can facilitate the rehabilitation of young offenders.Item RETHINKING THE DWELLING PATTERNS OF DELIPARA: PROSPECT DEVELOPING A SELF SUSTAINING COMMUNITY(2022-03) MATIN, NOWSHIN SHREOSHILiving along the coast of the Bay of Bengal is the Hindu Jele Das community. ‘Jele’ means fisher folk. They work with traditional methods, which they have learned from their ancestors. The fisherfolk belong to a special sect of Hindus - ‘Das’, meaning slave. They believe themselves to be slaves of water. Their choice of profession isn’t simply due to their proximity to the ocean; it is intertwined with their belief, which dictates their lifestyle. However, traditional fishing communities and practices have been neglected for decades, leading the Jele Das community into poverty. The Jele Das community is currently living along the coast of the Salimpur district in Bangladesh. Their historic ties to this site make it a viable choice for the project. The exposed coast makes the Jele Das vulnerable to natural disasters. However, they have learned to accept this uncertainty for their love of fishing. Adjacent is a ship breaking yard. Issues faced on different scales lead to the involvement of local government, NGO, and the local community. Finally, the community’s finance, regulated by the NGO, will instill feelings of ownership within individuals in material form. This financial involvement brings individuals closer to being involved in the design process. This is in two spectrums: emotional and physical. As the design is experimented in paper and models, their individual opinions and requirements become parameters. These parameters are investigated by exploring the following; individual and community aspirations, cultural and religious views, what strengths and limitations the community members possess as individuals and community. Physical involvement as local laborers in construction ties them to the process and provides financial relief. This community finds itself at the intersection of tradition and modernity, challenged by both the natural and manmade worlds. A Planetarium exhibits the beautiful creations of the human discovery of the universe and beyond. However, Science and Technology is the benchmark of prosperity of a nation in modern era. Nations all over the world is patronizing the development of science whereas, Bangladesh falls behind in this sector. Nevertheless, Bangladesh has huge opportunity of development in this sector. This project should create interest and curiosity among the mass people, especially the children to learn and explore the vast world of astronomical science. This will be the hub where people gather for recreation and enrich their knowledge.Item WOMEN & CHILD CARE HOSPITAL,CHANDPUR(300BED)(2022-03) RANI, ABRITYNow a days ,hospital facility is very important issue of every step of the people life style. In Japan there in one hospital bed for every 100 person, but here in Bangladesh in one hospital bed for every 4000 people. So the number of hospital beds insufficient compared to the population of the country. Though Bangladesh total population in 2/3 women and child but their haven’t no especial health facility.Whither1 in 3 women suffer from common gynecological conditions.Worldwide, for a resources 358,000 women, pregnancy and childbirth end in death and affliction. World Health Organization says, an estimation of 5.9 million children under the age of 5, died in 2015. Maximum 44 deaths per thousand lives were recorded in 2015 for Under-five mortality rate with 90 percent uncertainty interval. There were 28% cases Death occurs from pneumonia in postnatal period in 2013 in Bangladesh. Also 15 % cases Death occurs from Diarrheal diseases in postnatal period in 2013 in Bangladesh. So, It is very emergency to build a women and child care hospital to improve the medical treatment of chandpur district. It is the reason that have mentioned to build a women and child care hospital for the people of chandpur that - the hospital remaining in chandpur sadar is not sufficient for the mass people especially maternal and pediatric facility .For this reason, if there is any serious patient at islampur,chandpur then it takes at first chandpur sadar hospital after that Camilla and at last to Dhaka .So, too much time to take the patient to Dhaka for proper treatment and the patient has to face transportation problem. Most of the time, many patients die as they do not get proper medical treatment. Again, many patients die forthe sake of wrong treatment. That's why strict importance should be applied to build a women and child care hospital at chandpur district & If a special hospital build such as women and child care hospital in chandpur district thus the general people of Chandpur get a great facility about there healthconditionItem BANGABANDHU FILM CITY: A JOURNEY THROUGH FILM MAKING, KALIAKOIR,GAZIPUR(2022-03) EMA, ISHRAT JAHANIn terms of artistic expression, films are considered to be among the most famous forms. All of us can identify with the essence of films, even if we might not comprehend art. The medium of cinema is responsible for bringing stories to life. The film industry is dwindling in importance so often in this nation, which is still a growing one. The absence of infrastructure to support the sector is one of the factors. Building a system as well as creating a venue for artists and cinema buffs to come together, admire art, and experience the richness and diversity of something like the film-making process are critical first steps in exploring this particular form of art. In certain industrialized countries, including neighboring countries India, there are film cities wherein individuals may not only shoot movies but also learn about the entire process from start to finish. In a developing nation like Bangladesh, a presence of a film city would absolutely add substantially to augment the path to artistic glory. Such a platform would serve as the hub for artistic celebration for the artists and cinema buffs, not just the general public. Some put a lot of effort and money into it, and a film city will provide them with the right infrastructure that is currently lacking.Item SUSTAINABLE HOUSING FOR COAL MINE WORKERS: BARAPUKURIA COAL MINE VILLAGE, DINAJPUR(2022-02) EMON, MEHEDI HASAN“SUSTAINABLE HOUSING FOR COAL MINE WORKERS: BARAPUKURIA COAL MINE VILLAGE, DINAJPUR” is a housing project for Barapukuria Coalmine Company employees. A trip to northern Bengal villages made me notice how Bangladesh's rural vernacular has undergone a dramatic shift over the past few decades and inspired me to develop a "village" as my thesis project. The project site is situated in Diaper, Barapukuria, in a village named Dhulaudal. The place, there the mild nature is the force to play with, has become an important component from which the project's master plan can be created. The project is like a journey that began with the aim of understanding the morphology of the rural vernacular, from a small living unit to the pattern in which the rural vernacular is understandable from a small living unit to the pattern in which the paddy fields, forests, little villages are composed to create the unique artwork of nature. The design focus of the master plan should be to compose the components in such a way that the spaces are demarcated but blended into each other and produce a flow that opens into the current stream, while the existing forest penetrates into the site and merges with the site's landscape. The idea of unit design might be to create a unit as the core of the household surrounding a court, then replicate this unit pattern and modify it to create patterns for the clusters to present users with different but interesting open space levels.Item REDESIGNING AN AUTOMOTIVE ASSEMBLY PLANT: BARABKUNDA, CHATTOGRAM(2022-03) FAIZA, RIFAHThe automobile industry in Bangladesh is a developing industry with a possibility of a promising future after the successful journey of the apparel industry. An automobile assembly plant with full completely knocked down (CKD) kits, which is a complete kit needed to assemble a product, production capacity will not only improve the economic condition of our country but also meet up the increasing demand of vehicle of our people at a lower cost and provide huge employment opportunity. A well-equipped CKD assembly plant that will be able to assemble the vehicle entirely without the help of third party can significantly reduce the cost of vehicles. Hence the assembly plant will require a highly functional and efficient design that can meet up the current demand of vehicles and accommodate all modern technology and facilities for the plant to run efficiently and research facility for future development of the plant and its technologies.
