Item Study on the Dyeing Performances of Jute Fabrics Dyed with Extracted Natural Dyes from Jackfruit Leaf and Teak Leaf(Daffodil International University, 2023-01-01) Islam, Ariful; Iqbal, Asib; Khatun, Mahmuda; Sultana, NayerFirstly, used hydrogen peroxide in traditional method for Scouring and bleaching process. Then for grey jute fabrics are dyed by individually natural colors which was extracted from jackfruit and teak leaves. After that, lighter shade is being obtained without any adding mordant and then observed that amount of dye taking up being increased with increasing percentage of mordant. The color output was enhanced by mordanting potash Alum. We know small entrepreneurs’ craftsmen are very much interested to make some aesthetic products by jute fibre and fabric as since as those are being lucrative in small cottage, nest, sandal etc. by jute fibre and fabric. So here color fastness is much necessary and color fastness work are compared between teak leafs and jackfruits leafs.Item An Implementation of Sustainable Solar Powered Mosquito Trap Device(Daffodil International University, 23-01) Ahmad, Kanij; Arefin, ShamsulMosquito control is an ongoing problem that must be constantly monitored and achieved. This is due to the creature's ability to transmit a variety of deadly diseases, and mosquitoes kill one million people each vear. Traditional insecticide and bug zapper prevention methods are ineffective and have an adverse effect on the environment in a diverse range of ways, including the extinction of beneficial insects, mosquito biological evolution, and climate change. A solar-powered mosquito trap is developed in this study to attract mosquitos into the trap by sucking them toward a shock net while they are drawn to an SMD LED light.Item Preference on Quality Dimensions when Purchasing Undergarments: A Case Study of Dhaka City in Bangladesh(Daffodil International University, 23-01) Chowdhury, Tanvir Ahmed; Rahman, Md. Mominur; Hossain, Alamgir; Majumder, S.M. Mahbub Ul HaqueThe Bangladeshi garments manufacturers are emphasizing on local market besides exporting with reputation. Undergarments are a very common product for both male and female. The main objective of this study was to find out the perception of consumers of Dhaka city while buying undergarments. Specifically, this study tried to discover the impact of gender and age group of customers on dimensions of quality during purchasing undergarments in Dhaka city, Bangladesh. To conduct this work, Dhaka city was divided into two parts-DNCC and DSCC. A total 766 male and 750 female customers were interviewed faceto- face perfectly. To get the desired objectives of this study, logistic regression analysis was done. It was found that about 75% of female customer prefers fiber type, hand feel and outer appearance. Again, about 80% male favor fiber type and hand feel like female but unlike female they prefer elasticity instead of outer appearance. Most of the customers of aged 12 to 18 years prefer hand feel, outer appearance and elasticity whereas greater share of age group (19 to 30) years, (31 to 50) years and above 50 years prefer fiber type instead of outer appearance although the percentages of customer are different in choosing the mentioned aspects of quality. This study discovered that the preferences to dimensions of quality differ not only among genders but also among customers of different ages. As a result, manufacturers should take it into consideration while producing undergarments.Item Shehu Transform Homotopy Analysis Method for the Solution of Nonlinear Initial Value Ordinary and Partial Differential Equations(Daffodil International University, 23-01) Yisa, B. M.; Baruwa, M. A.In this paper, we propose a method of solution for both nonlinear Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs) and Partial Differential Equations (PDEs). Shehu Transform is combined with Homotopy Analysis Method (HAM) to handle both homogeneous and nonhomogeneous problems in the family of differential equations considered. The properties of homotopy derivatives are exploited while handling the nonlinear terms encountered. Several examples are solved using HAM and the Shehu Transform Homotopy Analysis Method (STHAM) proposed in this work, and the effectiveness of the proposed method is obvious in terms of reduction in the volume of computations and time. All computations are carried out with the aid of Mathematica 12.0.Item Changes of Dimensional Stabilities for Viscose, Polyester and Spandex Constituents: A Study on Knit Fabric Stage Versus Garments Stage(23-01) Rahman, Md. Hasanul Islam; Chowdhury, Tanvir Ahmed; Hossain, Md Kamrul; Hossain, AlamgirDimensional stability is one of the fundamental issues from customer point of view due to after use changes of length and width of garments hinder the proper use ability of garments. The paper is to investigate the change of dimensional stabilities and their association and difference with different selective synthetic fibres constituents. Fabrics and their adjacent garments samples are washed with detergent and the changes of length and width are measured in respect of previous dimensions. A sample of 50 repeated measures was conducted to measure the dimension change. Then the data was processed using software – Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) to determine the association and difference. It is revealed that there is significant association with viscose fibre composition and change of length after 1st and 3rd wash as well as change of width after 3rd wash at fabric stage. However, at garments stage, there is significant association with viscose fibre composition and change of length after 1st wash as well as with change of width at 3rd wash. 1st wash of fabric and garments significantly differ with its 3rd wash, however, there is no significant difference between fabric and garments after the same wash.Item Pedestrian Behavior in Road Crossing at the Intersections of Dhaka City(Daffodil International University, 23-01) Sharmin, Farhana; Iqbal, Mian Md Jawad Ibne; Faiza, FarzanaPedestrian accidents occur due to improper crossing patterns of people and improper crossing attempts occur for lack of proper road crossing infrastructure and poor traffic management. Dhaka, where pedestrian number is high, proper road crossing infrastructure is a must to halt collision of pedestrians with running vehicles. In this paper, pedestrian crossing behavior has been analyzed to provide proper pedestrian crossing infrastructure at anticipated points. This study has been conducted at 2 intersections of Dhaka; Mirpur 10 circle and Gulshan 2 circle. Mirpur 10 circle contains foot over bridge and Gulshan 2 circle without foot over bridge. The data has been collected in a quantitative method. It is a co-relational study where people’s behavior has been observed in their natural environment. This method is a type of field research. Separate models have been prepared to recognize pedestrians’ behavior. The factors for different models are; pedestrians’ age, gender, and luggage carrying. For intersection having the foot over bridge, the percentage of pedestrians using bridge and percentage of pedestrians using roads has been counted. For intersection not having the foot over bridges, the difference in crossing pattern of the pedestrians has been observed and the relation between the pattern and factors is analyzed. Walkers risk their lives even to avoid crossing bridges in order to save time and energy. This research will be helpful to identify the reason for the unwillingness to use foot over bridge and crosswalks of various types of pedestrians and thus the proper crossing facilities can be ensured to make the amblers' walking comfortable and safe.
