Item INFLUENCE OF CORM SIZE AND GA ON GROWTH AND YIELD OF GLADIOLUS IN SUMMER(DEPT. OF HORTICULTURE, 2011) SARKAR, MD. AKHLAS HOSAINAn experiment was conducted in the Horticulture Farm, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka during the period from May 2011 to August 2011 to study the influence of corm size and GA on growth and yield of gladiolus in summer. The experiment considered of two factors. Factor A: Two levels of corm size i.e. C M = Medium 3 Large 3 : Control 0 50 L = L 150 while the minimum in C . So, it can be concluded that, large size corm with 150 ppm GA 3 were found suitable for gladiolus production in summer.Item EFFECT OF SPACING AND PHOSPHORUS ON GROWTH AND FLOWERING OF GLADIOLUS(DEPT. OF HORTICULTURE, 2011) NAZNIN, ASMAThe study was conducted at the Horticulture Farm of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, Bangladesh during the period from October 2010 to May 2011. The experiment consisted with two factors. OF HORTICULTURE, 2011) RAHAMAN, SHEIKH MOHAMMAD SHAKILURAn experiment was conducted at the Horticulture Farm, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, during November 2010 to February 2011 to study the effect of organic manures on growth, yield and shelf life of broccoli cultivars. The experiment consisted of two factors, Factor A: Four levels of organic manure, viz. M 0 : Control; M 1 : Vermicompost; M 2 : Poultry manure, M : Cowdung and Factor B: Three broccoli cultivars, viz. V 1 : Premium, V : Green magic amd V : Forest green. Three storage conditions were used to find shelf life, viz. The experiment consisted of two factors. OF HORTICULTURE, 2011) ALI, MD. ARAFATAn experiment was conducted at Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute, Gazipur during the period of May to June 2011. Effect of waterlogging and seedling age on morphological and photosynthetic characters of eggplant was studied. Waterlogging was imposed for 144 hours on 30 and 40 days old seedlings with the water level 8 cm above the soil surface. Morphological and photosynthetic characters were affected drastically after 48 hours and 72 hours of waterlogging in 30 and 40 days old seedlings respectively and photosynthetic characters, chlorophyll content, photosynthesis rate and transpiration rate were decreased with reduction of stomatal conductance of CO 2 . Conversely sub-stomatal CO restricted assimilation of CO 2 photosystem II 2 concentration increased for in the leaves in both cases. The quantum efficiency of v /F m compared to that of seedlings grown under normal soil moisture condition as control and the ratio were rapidly decreased after 48 hours of waterlogging irrespective of seedlings age. Waterlogging effects became stronger with increasing the durations of waterlogging and differ with the age of the plant.Item EFFECT OF SEEDLING AGE AND PRUNING ON GROWTH AND YIELD OF BRINJAL(DEPT. The experiment consisted of two factors.
