Item Dyeing Of 100% Cotton Woven Fabric with Guava Leaf(Daffodil International University, 2025-01-04) Nion, Md Fahim Faysal; Hossain, Md AzmirGuava leaves (Psidium guajava) have the potential to be used as a natural dye for 100% cotton woven fabrics. This study emphasizes environmentally friendly and sustainable textile production. Research on renewable and biodegradable natural sources has been prompted by the growing need for substitutes for synthetic colors because of their negative effects on the environment and human health. Given their high tannin content and widespread availability, guava leaves offer a promising option for natural dyeing. Several stages of the study were involved: guava leaf dye extraction, cotton fabric preparation, dye application with various mordants, and assessment of colorfastness and other performance characteristics. Aqueous techniques were used to extract the dye, guaranteeing a procedure that would not harm the environment. Before being dyed with mordants including alum, ferrous sulfate, and copper sulfate, the cotton fibers were pre-treated to improve color absorption. To achieve a variety of hues and enhance color fixing, mordants were applied. Depending on the mordant employed, guava leaf extract can yield a variety of hues, from delicate yellows to deep browns, according to experimental data. With minor differences depending on the type of mordant used, the dyed materials showed good colorfastness to light, rubbing, and washing. Ferrous sulfate produced deeper hues with improved fastness qualities, whilst alum produced brighter tones with moderate fastness. According to the study, using guava leaves—a waste product in many areas—as a dye source has both financial and environmental benefits. This strategy lessens reliance on artificial dyes, promotes the circular economy, and decreases environmental damage. In addition to acknowledging difficulties with scalability and standardization of natural dyeing methods, suggestions were made for further study on enhancing dye extraction effectiveness and expanding the spectrum of colors that may be achieved. To sum up, guava leaves offer a practical and environmentally friendly substitute for dying cotton textiles, promoting the development of eco- friendly textile techniques. This study highlights the value of combining ancient knowledge with contemporary textile innovation in addition to proving the usefulness of natural dyes.Item Study on the Quality Control of Garments Sewing section(Daffodil International University, 2025-01-15) Islam, SafiaThe garment industry, a cornerstone of global trade, depends heavily on stringent quality control measures to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain brand reputation. This study examines the critical role of sewing inspection within quality control, identifying key areas for improvement and proposing innovative solutions to address prevalent challenges. Utilizing a mixed-methods research design, the study combines theoretical frameworks with empirical research. Surveys, interviews, and observations conducted with industry experts, quality control personnel, and production workers provide insights into current practices and challenges. Statistical analysis of defect data reveals patterns and trends, leading to actionable recommendations. The findings highlight several key areas for improvement. First, effective training and skill development for sewing operators are crucial in reducing defects. Second, the adoption of advanced inspection technologies, such as automated defect detection systems, can significantly enhance the accuracy and efficiency of quality control processes. Third, the implementation of a multi-layered inspection process—comprising in-line, final, and audit inspections—has been shown to reduce defect rates and improve product consistency. Lastly, regular performance monitoring and feedback mechanisms are essential to sustaining high-quality standards and fostering continuous improvement. These insights contribute to the enhancement of garment quality, offering practical strategies to improve production processes. Beyond the garment industry, the findings provide valuable implications for other manufacturing sectors that rely on intricate assembly processes, ultimately advancing consumer satisfaction and strengthening industry reputation. From the summary of the collected data table I got the defects percentage, this visualization highlights the defect count for each defects, with "Broken stitch" having the highest total defects (14.75%) and "Open seam" (13.1%) and “needle cut" having the lowest (3,27 %).Item Study On Different Types Washing Fault in Denim(Daffodil International University, 2025-01-12) Islam, Md. In Bangladesh's rapidly growing garment sector, a thorough understanding of denim washing effects is crucial for maintaining product excellence and staying competitive. This study aims to explore the intricate details of washing faults encountered in denim production, with a particular focus on the unique practices and challenges within Bangladesh's manufacturing landscape. Through an extensive examination that includes industry practices, case studies, and empirical data analysis, this research seeks to systematically categorize and analyze the root causes and impacts of various washing faults, such as color bleeding, fabric shrinkage, seam distortion, and uneven abrasion. By unraveling these complexities, the study not only aims to optimize efficiency and sustainability in denim manufacturing processes in Bangladesh but also seeks to equip industry stakeholders with valuable knowledge and strategies to effectively address washing faults. This comprehensive approach enhances product quality and reduces production waste, thereby promoting innovation and driving positive change in the global denim production industry.Item Study on Grey Waste in different Knitting Machine(Daffodil International University, 2025-06-16) Ghosh, Sourav KumarThe work reported in this thesis is an endeavor to have a speculation with facts and figures about the grey wastes generated in single jersey circular knitting machine. I study on kitting fabric faults and it’s cause. Mainly I proper study on two type of knitting machine. Those are single Jersey circular knitting machine and double jersey circular knitting machine. The amount of some serious knit industry flaws, such as holes/cracks, loops/drop stitches, lycra out, knots, and so forth, steadily increases or decreases with changes in stitch length. I obtained several samples of typical knit fabric flaws and some quality inspection sheets using the 4-point system approach from a reputed textile industry for this inspection. I first examined the information from the quality inspection sheets before examining the impact that changing the stitch length has on the frequency of major flaws on grey knit fabric.Item Analysis of the notes of overseas customers on different kinds of readymade garment samples(Daffodil International University, 2025-01-18)Report made presented by us is on “Analysis of the notes of overseas customer on different kinds of readymade garment samples”. Sample plays a vital role to grab order in RMG sector. Samples allow both the manufacturer and the buyer to verify the quality of the garment, ensuring it meets the required standards before mass production. Samples provide a tangible representation of the design, allowing the buyer to see and feel the garment. Providing high- quality samples builds trust and confidence with buyers, fostering long-term business relationships. These issues can affect the factory's overall economic performance. As a result, we needed to study the comments from buyer to understand the difficulty & solutions before going to production. Upon analysis, numerous faults were identified in the project. The study revealed that the majority of faults were related to measurements (26.79%) and fitting (26.79%), followed by washing issues (21.43%), workmanship defects (16.07%), material flaws (7.14%), and lab dip errors (1.78%). Understanding and addressing faults ensures that the final product meets the buyer's expectations, leading to higher customer satisfaction. The goal of this project is to make solutions of issues based on feedback builds trust and confidence between the manufacturer and the buyer.Item Study on Quality Parameters of Knit Fabric Entering the Garments Industry.(Daffodil International University, 2025-01-18) Rahat, Md. NasimThe project focuses on “Examining Quality Parameters of Knit Fabric in the Garments Industry.” This study explores the essential elements for achieving high quality in knit fabric and identifies the processes and factors that influence the inherent quality of the material. Based on this, compilations of reclamation statistics were generated, and interviews and quality assessments were conducted to determine whether high-quality standards are crucial for each manufacturer's fine- knit products and to minimize the volume of complaints. Our knit industry is linked with incorporation; thus, it is necessary to examine the procedures from the very beginning. It transitions from yarn to the finished product. Quality management plays a vital role in the daily operations of a business and should extend throughout the organization and all processes. To produce high- quality knit fabrics, quality testing becomes an essential component of effective quality management. These tests are conducted to verify that the product meets the expected standards and specifications regarding its properties. Despite the implementation of quality checks, there remains a possibility that dissatisfied customers return products that do not meet their expectations. Comparing customer complaints with quality test results can be a valuable method for assessing the issue or determining if it is indeed a problem. The study concluded that high quality could be a solution to ensure the production of knit fabrics with top quality. However, the issue is complex, and thus, the solution to reduce complaints and enhance product quality lies in additional factors or components of the solution. These strategies allow any organization to familiarize itself with the fundamental quality dimensions and help analyze where the critical points are located within its development and manufacturing processes. For the company involved in this study, the authors assert that the solution does not lie in simply raising quality standards; instead, improvements should be made in the stitching process, and greater internal control over garment measurement standards should be established. Quality tests alone cannot demonstrate a lack of quality material, and therefore, the authors believe that a significant portion of the complaints arises from good intentions.Item Comparative Analysis of Cotton Covered Elastomeric Hybrid Yarns And Cotton Yarn Physical Properties In Splice And Without Splice Condition(Daffodil International University, 2025-01-18) Quies, Md ImrulThis study pretends to assess the yarn breakage in ring machine in spinning process. The ring spinning process is a critical stage in textile manufacturing that significantly impacts the quality of the final product. Yarn breakage in ring spinning machines remains a persistent challenge, adversely affecting production efficiency, costs, and product consistency. This research report investigates the yarn breakage data analysis of several different yarn count. Special emphasis is placed on the comparison of cotton and elastane core-spun yarns, with and without splicing, to understand their respective performance in terms of strength, elasticity, and resistance to breakage. Comprehensive tensile testing and statistical analyses were conducted to explore the interplay between jaw separation distances during testing and the mechanical properties of yarn. Findings suggest that optimal machine settings and material selection can significantly mitigate yarn breakage, providing actionable insights for improving manufacturing efficiency and product quality. The study also considers the environmental implications of fiber shedding during production, contributing to a holistic understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the textile industry.Item Dyeing of Cotton Woven Fabrics Using Natural Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum) Leaf.(Daffodil International University, 2025-01-08) Hasan, Md Sohag; Rabin, Prince MahmudThe project titled “Dyeing of Cotton Woven Fabrics Using Natural Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum) Leaf” decrease synthetic dye use and minimize chemical uses, it is environmentally friendly.The demand for sustainable and environmentally friendly textile production techniques has raised interest in natural dyeing techniques. This study examines the use of Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum) leaf extract as a natural colour for cotton-woven fabrics. In order to increase dye production and minimise chemical inputs, the extraction process was optimised using environmentally friendly procedures. Cotton fabrics were treated with mordants including tannic acid, ferrous sulphate, and alum to enhance dye absorption and colour fastness. Along with their antimicrobial properties, the coloured textiles' colour, wash, rub, and light fastness were evaluated. The results indicated that Tulsi extract gives a spectrum of natural earthy tones, and that the type of mordant used affected the colour differences. The fastness properties were comparable to those achieved with synthetic colours, while the antibacterial properties added utilitarian value. According to the study, Tulsi leaf extract offers a viable, sustainable alternative to the textile dyeing sector, supporting global efforts to reduce environmental impact and promote green technologies.Item Analysis of Impact of Warp Yarn Variation on the Physical Properties of Woven Fabrics.(Daffodil International University, 2025-01-28) Amit, Shahin Khan; Zonayed, Md.; Anower, Shakil; Sazid, Asiful IslamThe durability and performance of denim fabrics are integral to their widespread use in various applications, ranging from casual wear to heavy-duty garments. This study explores the impact of warp yarn variation on the physical properties of woven denim fabrics, focusing on tensile strength, tear strength, abrasion resistance, pilling resistance, and fabric weight (GSM). Five denim fabric samples, each featuring different warp yarn constructions, were evaluated using standardized testing methods to assess their performance under conditions simulating real- world usage. The tests included tensile and tear strength assessments to determine the fabrics' resistance to stretching and rupture, abrasion resistance to evaluate their durability under friction, and pilling resistance to analyze their surface integrity after wear. Fabric weight wa measured to gauge density and potential durability. The results revealed significant differences in the performance of the samples. Among them, Sample-2 emerged as the best-performing fabric, with the highest tensile strength in the warp direction (928.79 N), superior tear resistance (71.73 N), the highest GSM value (390), and excellent pilling resistance (rated 4-5). These findings indicate that Sample-2 offers enhanced durability, strength, and surface quality, making it a suitable choice for applications requiring high performance and long-term wearability. Other samples demonstrated varying degrees of robustness, with Sample-3 exhibiting the lowest tensile and tear strength and GSM, indicating its limitations for heavy-duty use. This study underscores the importance of warp yarn variation in influencing the mechanical and physical properties of denim fabrics. The insights gained can guide manufacturers in optimizing fabric construction to meet specific performance demands.
