    A SECURED MESSAGE TRANSACTION APPROACH BY DYNAMIC HILL CIPHER GENERATION AND MESSAGE DIGEST CONCATENATION

    Secured message transactions are very much desirable for electronic communications in so many ways. A secured message transaction technique has been designed, developed and implemented using Java programming language. For this, a symmetric key encryption technique dynamic Hill cipher has been used for message encryption-decryption with a dynamic key length. A square-matrix of the given key length has been generated with the property that modulo operation of the product of the matrix and the inverse of that matrix is identity. The intended message is converted into binary form. Performs the bitwise-XOR operation of the equal two halves of the binary form and repeats the operations 3 times to generate the message digest (MD), and concatenate it with the message. Encrypts them using the Hill cipher technique with the key matrix and then send them to the destination. In the receiving end, the reverse process is performed to retrieve the message in secured manner. This process can be applied in many cryptographic applications as well as research works.

    Machine getting to know makes a specialty of the development of Computer packages which could get records and use it to discover on their own. This thesis centers on the job analysis of the Alumni. The job analysis helped out through a poll study follows. We want to build an “Alumni Job Analysis & Success Rate Prediction by Machine Learning Techniques”. Many people work at different farms or companies such as software firms, software companies. For the basis of Last Education, Programming Language, Monthly Salary and Company Rating. We can classify different types of classes such as Excellent, Very Good, Good, and Average. Our data is synthetic data. We collected our data from alumni. We have used Company rating from Google to make our dataset. At that point, machine learning classifications are applied to the dataset. Finally, a proficient model is created to predict a Success Rate. This model gives great classification measures with the dataset.

    An analysis of sustainability public procurement practices in district administration, Dhaka

    In Bangladesh, District Administration is the key mechanism direct responsible for the proper functioning of law enforcing and development of a district. District Administration works as a connecting bridge between local and central government. District Administration also plays an instrumental role in the field administration as well as the only representative in the central government. District Administration acts as a chief coordinator of the district level and implementing various policies and plans designed by the government. Every financial year finance division allocated fund to the Ministry of Public Administration and then the said ministry reallocated to the District Administration. After receiving budget through Ministry of Public Administration, our office procures mainly works and goods contracts following the supreme law of procurement i.e. PPA 2006, PPR, 2008 and other government instructions/order published official gazette properly. The activities of procurement mainly depends are revenue budget and development budget respectively. Ministry of Public Administration, Ministry of Land and other ministries are also allocating and sending budget through iBAS. The Deputy Commissioner, Dhaka is the HOPE and approving authority as well. Sustainable procurement performance depends on the effectively and efficiently achieve through the five rights of procurement i.e. right quality, right quantity, right time, right price & right place. Quality and quantity are the prerequisite in Government works & goods procurement through Technical Specification and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) respectively. If they don’t follow the rules, they must be punished for violating discipline and fall in audit objection as well. The objective of this report is to understand the sustainable procurements methods which are being practiced in DC office. Being a Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), this report helped me in service and personal life. I perceived how Direct Purchase Method (DPM), Request for Quotation Method and Open Tendering Method (OTM) are practiced in purchasing and how these methods are performed through government guideline (PPA, 2006 & PPR, 2008) properly. In this report, I came to know regarding the core activities of all the sections in District Administration, Dhaka. And I also learn about the annual budget allocation for each DC office and ensuring the expenditure procedures while making this report. Finally I recommend some issues for further improvement of the present scenario.

    An Android Based App for after Care Drug Rehab Monitoring System

    Our project title is “Aftercare Drug Rehab Monitoring System”. It is an Android and Web Application for Prediction of drug addicted patient and. Our apps has some features like login, registration, ratting, Answer, comment pass, discipline and Patient information etc. there are two kind of user, first one is patient guardian and second one is doctor. Many drug addicted patients goes home from the Rehabilitation center after he feel better. After going to home many patient again started taking the drug again. Then the patient was brought back to rehabilitation again. This app to help doctors prescribe the daily behavior of the patient. In this application, the patient's daily behavior can be rated above. Based on the daily behavior of patient. Guardian give some question answer and give ratting everyday. There are separate features for adhering to the rules and regulations. The doctor can see the rating and see daily question answer and predict the condition of the patient. Through our app Patient also see some discipline rule which will help the patient stay healthy. So it is very helpful for Doctor and patient guardian.

    Airtel Bangladesh Ltd. is a GSM-based cellular operator in Bangladesh. Bharti airtel started its telecom services business by launching mobile services in Delhi of India in 1995. From then it has become one of the top telecom companies in the World and it is also in the list of top five wireless operators in the World. In January 2010, Bharti Airtel Limited, Asia’s leading integrated telecom services provider, acquired 70% stake in Warid Telecom, Bangladesh. Since then the journey of airtel in Bangladesh has started. But officially the Activities with the brand “airtel” started on 20th, December, 2011 in Bangladesh Airtel are the sixth mobile phone carrier to enter the Bangladesh market, and originally launched Commercial operations under the brand name "Warid Telecom" on May 10, 2007. The telecommunication industry is one of the fastest growing industries in Bangladesh. It has reached a remarkable 76.43 million subscribers by now. This has brought immense contribution to GDP of the country. Not only did it help the country in its economic growth, but also helped to improve the standard of living of the whole society by providing the mobile phone services. Now this market has become very saturated for which current telecommunication firms, other than non-price competition, is trying to develop new techniques to capture more market share. In the process, one of the strategies developed is developing a system of providing best services and offers to increase market share through strong distribution channel. These research papers thus focus completely on evaluating the distribution channel and recommend an efficient idea to be improved. As a student of BBA program, I got the opportunity to complete my internship program in such a multinational telecom company. The internship program is the partial requirement of my BBA program and the duration of the internship session was 3 months. I worked in the central sales operation of Airtel Bangladesh where all the planning of increasing performance of distribution channel is taken care of. The report has been prepared in align with my job responsibilities and experiences at Airtel.

    Anxiolytic, Antidepressant and Antioxidant Activity of the Methanol Extract of Canarium resiniferum Leaves

    Background and aim This study evaluated the anxiolytic, antidepressant, and antioxidant activity of the methanol extract of Canarium resiniferum (MECR) leaves, and determined the total phenolic and flavonoid contents in this extract. Experimental procedure The anxiolytic effect of MECR (100, 200, 400 mg/kg, p. o.) was tested in mice using the elevated plus-maze (EPM) test, the hole-board test (HBT), and the light-dark box (LDB) test. Its antidepressant effect was evaluated in the tail suspension (TST) and the forced swim (FST) tests. The total phenolic (TPC) and flavonoid (TFC) content was measured using standard colorimetric assays. Antioxidant activity was determined using the DPPH radical scavenging and ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) assays. Results and conclusion MECR, at all doses, showed dose-dependent anxiolytic activity. At 400 mg/kg, it significantly increased the time spent and number of entries in the open arms (EPM test), the number of head-dips (HBT), and the time spent into the light compartment (LDB) test compared to the control. In the TST and FST, MECR dose-dependently reduced the duration of immobility compared to untreated animals. This was significant for all doses except for 100 mg/kg in the FST model. MECR showed high TPC and TFC (90.94 ± 0.75 mg GAE/g and 51.54 ± 0.78 mg QE/g of dried extract, respectively) and displayed potent activity in the DPPH radical scavenging (IC50 = 177.82 μg/mL) and FRAP assays. These findings indicate that C. resiniferum has the potential to alleviate anxiety and depression disorders, which merits further exploration.

    Detection of Deepfake using computer vision and deep learning

    In this era of Metaverse and technological advancement, Deepfakes are one of the most alarming concepts. Deepfakes are mostly synthetically-generated manipulated photos or videos which is created swapping a face of a person using Deep learning, Generated Adversarial Network (GAN), autoencoder-decoder pairing structure. There are several other Deepfaking tools such as; FaceSwap, DeepFaceLab, DFaker, DeepFake-tensorflow etc. Using Generative Adversarial Network (GAN), Deepfakes have become smoother and more realistic in making the fake videos. DeepFakes can become concerning if it is used for political purpose, committing fraud, spreading misinformation, pornography, defamation on social media etc. This possesses a security threat on people’s lives knowingly or unknowingly. As a result, it is visible that DeepFakes can be very distressing on the wrong hand if not detected properly. Our purpose is to detect the DeepFake videos as successfully as possible. We want to focus on detection using Deep learning approaches also using Image recognition and computer vision. For this detection, we used a dataset of videos, which included both real and fake videos. We have successfully extracted it from Kaggle where we have found dataset of more than 2352 videos from DeepFake Detection Challenge(DFDC) and FaceForensics++. To detect the fake videos, we followed the method of employing temporal feature and exploring visual artifacts within frames. Employing temporal feature uses LSTM (Long Short-Term Memory) and CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) whereas visual artifacts within frames mostly employs deep learning method to detect DeepFakes. We ensembled LSTM (Long Short-Term Memory) and CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) to detect DeepFakes successfully. ResNeXt101_32x8d have been used to extract features and a custom CNN model is added with LSTM for better accuracy for detecting DeepFake. The accuracy of the model was 94.05%. After further improvement and with the introduction of learning rate schedulers, we were able to achieve better accuracy. We have used CosineAnnealingLR, CyclicLR, MultiStepLR and ReduceLRonPlateau among which MultiStepLR gave the highest accuracy of 95.33%.

    Microbiological Quality Assessment of Popular Fresh Date Samples Available in Local Outlets of Dhaka City, Bangladesh

    It is evident that date fruits provide a wide variety of essential nutrients which impart potential human health benefits. In Bangladesh, the popularity of date and its consumption surge few-fold during Ramadan among Muslims owing to the profound emotion related to religious belief that breaking of dawn-to-dusk fasting with dates is fulfilling a Sunnah. The present study aimed to explore the microbiological quality of the five most popular fresh date samples (Nagal, Dhapas, Boroi, Morium, and Tunisia) purchased from different locations of Dhaka City, Bangladesh. Among 25 samples tested, 23 were observed to carry 3.30-5.65 Log CFU/gm aerobic bacteria and 3.30-5.36 Log CFU/gm yeasts and molds population. Coliform bacteria and Escherichia coli were not found in any of the samples analyzed in this study. However, except Nagal and Boroi from Mohammadpur and Mirpur, respectively, none of the samples were found safe to consume according to the microbiological grade recommended by Woolworths Quality Assurance Standard (WQAS), 2009, as fresh dates with microbial load can cause food poisoning or even foodborne intoxication. Date samples with less or no processing is responsible for this contamination which can be subsided and eliminated by appropriate handling and hygiene practices during postharvest processing.

    Pharmacological Screening of Antidiabetic Herbal Preparations in Streptozotocin Induced Type-2 Diabetic Model Rats

    Antidiabetic potency of locally produced antidiabetic herbal preparations (ADHPs) are unknown. In this study, a pharmacological screening of antihyperglycemic potency of locally available six ADHPs were evaluated on streptozotocin (STZ) induced type 2 diabetic rat models. ADHPs were administered to the diabetic rat and blood glucose levels were monitored before (0 day) and after administration of ADHPs (at 14th day and 28th day) by measuring serum glucose concentration using oxidase method. Serum glucose levels in different groups of ADHP treated rats were compared against baseline glucose levels and water control and reference drug by t test. Serum glucose levels were found to be similar at baseline in all groups against water control and reference drug. The administration of herbal preparations except ADHP-3 and ADHP-5 resulted in a non-significant reduction of blood glucose level of the diabetic rats when compared with diabetic rats that received no treatment at 14th day or compared to the diabetic rats received standard or baseline. ADHP-3 was found to be most effective hypoglycemic herbal preparation at 14th day. At 28th day, all ADHPs were found to have hypoglycemic potential compared to water control and only ADHP-3 showed similar hypoglycemic effect compared to reference drug and baseline glucose levels at 28th day. This study revealed that a minor fraction of the locally available antihyperglycemic herbal preparations are truly effective and among the six ADHPs studied, only ADHP-3 possesses hypoglycemic effect.

    Potential Health Impacts from Radioactive Releases at Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant Under Hypothetical Accident Scenario

    This study presents a comprehensive assessment of radiological dose consequences from potential severe accident scenarios at the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), focusing on health impacts from radioactive releases. Utilizing HotSpot 3.1.2 and ORIGEN 2.2, the research estimates Total Effective Dose Equivalent (TEDE) and Committed Effective Dose Equivalent (CEDE) to critical organs, including the thyroid, skin, lungs, surface bone, red marrow, and liver, under seasonal meteorological conditions. The thyroid, due to its high affinity for radioactive iodine (particularly 131I), showed maximum CEDE values of 8.0 × 105 Sv and 4.4 × 105 Sv during the autumn and rainy seasons, respectively, at 30 meters from the source. These values, along with other organ doses, exceeded public and occupational dose limits up to 15 km in the rainy season and 30 km in the autumn season, primarily influenced by wind speed and precipitation. The study underscores the need for emergency protective measures such as sheltering, evacuation, and the administration of potassium iodide (KI), especially for populations within high-risk zones. It further recommends the integration of dose modeling findings into the National Nuclear and Radiological Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (NNREPRP) to enhance response strategies and protect public health in the event of nuclear accidents.

    Status of the WHO recommended timing and frequency of antenatal care visits in Northern Bangladesh

    Objective: There is dearth of information on the timeliness of antenatal care (ANC) uptake. This study aimed to determine the timely ANC uptake by a medically trained provider (MTP) as per the World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations and the country guideline. Methods Cross-sectional survey was done with 2,731 women having livebirth outcome in last one year in Dinajpur, Nilphamari and Rajshahi districts, Bangladesh from August-November,2016. Results About 82%(2,232) women received at least one ANC from a MTP. Overall, 78%(2,142) women received 4 or more ANCs by any provider and 43%(1168) from a MTP. Only 14%(378) women received their first ANC at the 1st trimester by a MTP. As per 4 schedule visits by the WHO FANC model and the country guideline 8%(203) and 20%(543) women respectively received the first 2 timely ANC by a MTP; where only 1%(32) and 3%(72) received the first 3 visits timely and 0.6%(17) and 1%(29) received all the four timely visits. Factors significantly associated with the first two timely visits are: 10 or above years of schooling of women [adj. OR 2.13 (CI: 1.05, 4.30)] and their husbands [adj. OR 2.40 (CI: 1.31, 4.38)], women’s employment [adj. OR 2.32 (CI: 1.43, 3.76)], urban residential status [adj. OR 3.49 (CI: 2.46, 4.95)] and exposure to mass media [adj. OR 1.58 (CI: 1.07, 2.34)] at 95% confidence interval. According to the 2016 WHO ANC model, only 1.5%(40) women could comply with the first two ANC contacts timely by a MTP and no one could comply with all the timely 8 contacts. Conclusion Despite high coverage of ANC utilization, timely ANC visit is low as per both the WHO recommendations and the country guideline. For better understanding, further studies on the timeliness of ANC coverage are required to design feasible intervention for improving maternal and child health.

    Sustainable Grain Protection: Combatting Rice Weevils (Sitophilus oryzae) with Natural Plant Powders

    Grain storage plays a pivotal role in ensuring food security and sustaining agriculture for future generations. However, a wide array of insect pests, including the rice weevil (Sitophilus oryzae), pose a significant threat to stored grains. This study was conducted at the Laboratory of the Department of Seed Science and Technology, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh, from October 2019 to March 2020, to evaluate the efficacy of plant-based powders for managing rice weevils. The experiment was designed using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three replications and seven treatments. These treatments included five botanical powders—Ocimum tenuiflorum (Tulsi), Azadirachta indica (Neem), Polygonum hydropiper (Biskatali), Nicotiana tabacum (Tobacco), and Lantana camara (Lantana)—applied at three dosage levels: 1 g, 3 g, and 5 g per 100 g of grain. Additionally, a chemical insecticide (Sevin 85 SP @ 0.25%) and an untreated control were included for comparison. Results revealed that neem leaf powder was the most effective, achieving the highest adult insect mortality and the lowest adult emergence. In contrast, Lantana powder exhibited the least efficacy, allowing 94.38% more adult insects to emerge compared to neem powder. Untreated grains experienced a 20% weight loss due to rice weevil infestation after one month of storage, whereas treatment with 5% neem leaf powder reduced weight loss to a mere 0.14%. This reduction was statistically significant compared to all other treatments. These findings suggest that neem leaf powder at 5% is a highly effective, eco-friendly, and safe alternative to chemical insecticides for controlling rice weevils in stored grains.
