Item INVESTIGATION OF CLINICAL PROTOZOAL CASES IN ANIMALS AT INTERNSHIP PLACEMENTS IN BANGLADESH AND INDIA(Chattogram Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, Khulshi,Chattogram, 2015-01) Parvez, Md. AnwarThe study was carried out at different placement for studying clinical cases in different livestock species along with their various parameters during February to April 2014 in Ishwarganj Upazila Veterinary Hospital, Mymensingh and during Jun to July 2014 in India. A total 26 cases were collected from above places using structured record keeping sheet. The following information was recorded: Species, breed, age, sex, body weight, clinical sign of different cases and drugs prescribed in those diseases. Cases were evaluated by taking rectal temperature, observing mucous membrane, palpating lymphnode and observing the presence of ticks, maggot and urine color. The collected data were stored and cleaned in the Microsoft Excel program 2007 and then exported to STATA-13 (College Station, Texas 77845, USA). Collected 26 clinical cases of different livestock species were examined during that period. Among all cases there were Babesiosis (4 cases), Anaplasmosis (5 cases), Theileriosis (6 cases) in India and Myiasis (11 cases) whereas cattle (n=18) were mostly infected than other species. The common sign was Coffee colored urine and swollen lymphnode (Babesiosis), swollen pre-scapular lymphnode (Anaplasmosis), nodules across the surface of the body (Theileriosis) and wound along with maggot (Myiasis). Oxytetracycline was mostly used for treating protozoal diseases and after removal of maggots, povidine iodine, naphthalene and ivermectin was used for treating myiasis.Item Microcontroller Based Display System Design using LED Array(Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet, Bangladesh, 2010-01-11) Bhuyan, Muhibul; Rabby, Md. Anayet; Parvez, Md. Anwar; Tarik, Md. Mostayanul GofurThis project provides an efficient and scalable approach to a microcontroller-based display system design using an LED array. The aim of this work is to develop an electronic display system that will illuminate the display of the whole "Bangladesh Map" and its six divisions in sequence using an LED array. Besides, another board made of LED arrays will display characters from the English alphabet, in different modes. In both display panels, LEDs are driven and controlled by the microcontroller chip. In this project, an 8-bit PIC16F84A microcontroller is used. To control current flow, resistor arrays are used along with the LED array. It is found that the system works very well for different modes of operation.Item Molecular and Histopathological detection of Cryptosporidiosis in calves in Chittagong(Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Khulshi-Chittagong-4225, Bangladesh, 2017-06) Parvez, Md. AnwarCryptosporidium is an intestinal protozoan parasite of livestock and human and cause cryptosporidiosis which is also a common disease of cattle especially neonatal calves. Cryptosporidiosis is commonly asymptomatic but sometimes associated with persistent diarrhea in calves. The aim of the present study was to carry out pathological and molecular investigation of cryptosporidium infection in calves. The study was conducted during June, 2015 to January, 2016. During the study period fecal sample were collected from 160 calves with less than 45 days age from a total of 50 dairy and beef farms located in Chittagong Metropolitan Area and Patiya Upazilla of Chittagong when 5 dead calves with a history of diarrheal illness were also examined for gross and histopathological examination. The fecal samples were first screened by modified ZiehlNeelsen (Z-N) staining technique for the detection of cryptosporidium oocysts under light microscope which is characterized by pink to bright red spherical bodies and later confirmed by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) using 18s rRNA gene. Z-N positive fecal samples were used for DNA extraction Cryptosporidium spp. was confirmed by amplifying 18srRNA gene primer. The positive samples yielded 580bp band with the use of 1% agarose gel electrophoresis for PCR amplified products. The overall prevalence of Cryptosporidiosis in crossbred calves was 9.37% (15/160) by Z-N techniques and 1.88% (3/160) by nested PCR amplification which is statistically significant (p<0.05). The prevalence of Cryptosporidium was also significantly higher in diarrhoeic calves (42.85%) than non diarrhoeic (7.9%) calves. During necropsy examination bad odors, bloody mucous membrane with fluid filled watery fecal contents were found in two dead calves. For histopathological examination tissue samples were collected from dead calves and preserved in 10% buffered formalin. After tissue processing and routine H&E staining of intestinal tissue section revealed atrophied villi and sloughing of mucosa with reactive cellular infiltration. It is evident that the prevalence of cryptosporidiosis in bovine calves in these areas is under diagnosed and the clinical status of infection was not potentially high. It can be concluded that Cryptosporidium spp. infection is prevalent in Bangladesh and adult cattle could serve as reservoirs for the zoonotic infection in humans.Item Typosquatting error detection analyzing DNS log(Department of computer Science and Engineering, 2019-10-02) Parvez, Md. Anwar; Iqbal, Dr. AnindyaTyposquatting is a form of internet cybersquatting generated from the mistakes (typos) made by internet users while typing a website address. It often leads the user to another unintended website. Sometimes it isexploited by cybersquatters to attract website traffic by redirecting common typos of popular websites to some other sites with malicious contents. A possible solution is defensive registration of similar domains and redirecting requests to the original site. This would be affordable for the owner of the original domain if a short list of such probable typo domain names can bepredicted. In this thesis, we present a supervised learning based typographical error detection model analyzing domain server log that would suggest such a list. The detection scheme achieves as high as 98% accuracy. Existing works on typosquatting mostly try to generate typo sites by using different heuristic rules. However, to the best of our knowledge, none of them can predict probable typo variations of a given URL at pre-registration phase. We also present TypoWriter, an RNN based error prediction tool to fill this gap. TypoWriter achieves a good performance in terms of successful predictions that match with the ground-truth. It is compared with five widely used typo generation tools and substantial improvement is observed.
