Item A Bibliometric Analysis of Publications Published in the Journal of Documentation DURING 1991—2013(Daffodil International University, 2018) Dasgupta, Sabuj; Moniruzzaman, M.; Uddin, Md. NazimAbstract.- The scope of the journal titled ’Journal of Documentation’ is mainly information sciences, incorporating research articles, critical reviews and research reports. The bibliometric analysis of the research ournal is an attempt to measure and evaluate d jerent types of publications in relation to trend citation, volume, duration and authors. A total of 1193 peer-revie wed publications published during 1991 to 2013 have been analyzed through the database of Web of Science published by Clarivate Analytics The frequency of journal was quarterly during 1945-1996, five issues a year during 199!-1999 and since 2000 it has become bimonthly. Highest number of articles published in 2011 and lowest in 1995 and country-wise highest numbers of records (431) were from England during 1991-2013. It is found that highest number of citations was 668 in 2010 and lowest was in 1996 during the period of 1994 to 2013,- highest record for a single author is 90 (!. 544’Xo) and lowest record is 2 (0.l6fXo).The average citations per item are 5.03 and h-index is 35. The study revealed that impact factor of the journal for last five years was 1.333. The analysis is expected to be found useful by contributors and researchers as it shows the trends of citations.Item Antidiabetic And Free Radical Scavenging Activities Of Methanolic Extract Of Citrullus Lanatus (Fruit Rind)(EJPMR, 2015-06-27) Azad, A. The present study was designed to investigate DPPH scavenging in-vitro antioxidant activity and antidiabetic activity on alloxan induced diabetic mice. Mice treated with extract dose at 300mg/kg p.o, showed a remarkable decrease ( ***p<0.001) of blood glucose concentration at 90min and 120min compared to diabetic control group and metformin was taken as a reference standard. In this study antioxidant activity of Citrullus lanatus was g/mlg/ml in contrast with ascorbic acid IC50 was 36.34 IC50 was 102.51 g/ml.g/ml in contrast with ascorbic acid IC50 was 36.34 g/ml.Item Binding of desloratadine and atenolol with bovine serum albumin and their in-vitro interactions(© 2012 Ars Pharmaceutica, 2012) Shihab-us-Sakib, Khondoker; Islam, Mohammad A.; Moniruzzaman, M.; Hussein, Anwar; Hossain, M. Mahboob; Mazid, Mohammad A.Aims: The binding of atenolol a selective β1 receptor antagonist and desloratadine, an H1 receptor antagonist, to bovine serum albumin. Methods: The analysis of binding was studied by equilibrium dialysis method (ED) using ranitidine and diazepam as site-1 and site-2 specific probe, respectively. Results: The study suggested two sets of association constants, for atenolol: high affinity association constant (k1 = 5 × 10-5 M-1) with low capacity (n1 = 2) and low affinity association constant (k2 = 2.5 × 10-5 M-1) with high capacity (n2 = 5), while for desloratadine: high affinity association constant (k1 = 45 × 10-5 M-1) with low capacity (n1 = 1.3) and low affinity association constant (k 2 = 5 × 10-5 M-1) with high capacity (n2 = 2.5) at pH 7.4 and 27 °C. During concurrent administration of atenolol and desloratadine in presence or absence of ranitidine or diazepam, desloratadine causes the release of atenolol from its binding site on BSA resulting reduced binding of atenolol to BSA. The increment in free fraction of atenolol was from 84.01% to 99 % upon the addition of increased concentration of only desloratadine at a concentration of 0 × 10-5 M to 14 × 10 -5 M. In presence of diazepam as site-II specific probes, desloratadine further increases the free fraction of atenolol was from 0.45% to 14.3%. KabirAn experiment was undertaken to determine the suitable pattern of carbofuran application for brinjal cultivation and minimize the application of carbofuran for maximum protection against brinjal shoot and fruit borer (BSFB). The experiment was conducted at the research field of Soil Science Department, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU), Gazipur during the period from September 2008 to March 2009. The experiment was laid out in RCBD with 4 treatments and 3 replications. Considering 6m x Sm plot size for each treatment and 60 cm x 7S cm plant spacing with 40 days old brinjal seedlings. The lowest percent of shoot infestation (1.24%) was recorded where carbofuran 30 kg/ha (furataf SG used @ 90g/ 30 m'; T,) was applied in every plant of every row. It was followed by carbofuran IS kg/ha (furatafSG used @4Sg/30m'; T,) was applied in every plant of every alternate row. But there was no significant difference of percent shoot infestation between where carbofuran was applied in every plant of every row and in every plant of every alternate row. However, the highest shoot infestation (3.02%) was recorded where carbofuran 7.50 kg/ha (furataf SG used @ 22.50g1 30 nr'; T4) was applied in every plant of three alternative rows and followed by earbofuran 11.25 kg/ha (furataf SG used @ 37.7Sg/30 m'; T3) was applied in every plant of two alternative rows. Fruit infestation both in terms of number and weight followed the same trend as in shoot infestation and having no significant difference between these two treatments. The highest percent fruit infestation (36.S3%) by number was recorded in where carbofuran was applied in every plant of three alternative rows followed by carbofuran was applied in every plant of two alternative rows. The highest yield (37.67 t/ha) was obtained from where carbofuran was applied in every plant of every row and the second highest yield (37.58 t/ha) was recorded where carbofuran was applied in every plant of every alternate row, although there was no significant difference between these treatments in respect to yield. Significantly, the lowest yield (33.S6 t/ha) was recorded where carbofuran was applied in every plant of three alternative rows in which the maximum distance was maintained in carbofuran application pattern. The highest net return (4,08,SOO Tk/ha) and cost benefit ratio (1.19) was found where earbofuran was applied in every plant of every alternate row. In view of different row combinations, the higher net return and cost benefit ratio may come from where carbofuran application in ring furrow to every plant of one alternate row would be the best option to be utilized in BSFB management programs.
