Item CHARACTERIZATION OF SALDANADI GAS RESERVOIR BY WELL LOG INTERPRETATION(2023-03) JAHAN, ISRAT; ISLAM, TAHIDULIn this study, we have compared several petrophysical parameters such as facies, porosity, and shale volume for the various zones of the Saldanadi Gas Field (SGF), Bangladesh, using 2D seismic and logging data. The SGF is a part of the greater Rukhia structure. It is located in Kasba Thana of the Brahmanbaria district in Bangladesh, adjacent to the border with Tripura, India, and about 50 kilometers southeast of Brahmanbaria town. We have used seismic and logging data as input, along with a combination of Petrel Software (2009.1.1) algorithms, to simulate the potential zones of this field. Also, log data is used to correlate Gas Sand Zones among the four wells which are drilled yet, those are: Saldanadi (SD)-1, SD-2, SD-3, and SD 4. The goal of this study is to determine the possible gas sand zones of the Saldanadi gas reservoir for each individual well based on the input data. Gamma-ray logs have been used to determine the lithology for each well. Based on the SD-1 facies model four possible gas sand zones have been determined and they are namely New Gas Sand-2 (NGS-2), New Gas Sand-1 (NGS-1), Upper Gas Sand (UGS), and Lower Gas Sand (LGS) respectively from the top. For the wells SD-1, SD-2, SD-3, and SD-4, the Measured Depth (MD) of NGS-2 is 1866–1913 m, 1940–2010 m, 964 –1014 m, and 2154–2272 m, respectively. For the SD-1, SD-2, SD-3, and SD-4 wells, the depth of NGS-1 is 1999m–2012m, 2225m–2260m, 1052m–1230m, and 2402m–2423m, respectively. The UGS depths for the SD-1, SD-2, SD-3, and SD-4 wells are 2206–2259 m, 2323–2330m, 1388–1410 m, and 2618–2633m, respectively. For the SD-1, SD 2, SD-3, and SD-4 wells, the LGS depths are respectively 2304m to 2369m, 2417m–2439m, 2184m–2224m, and 2673m–2710m. In SD-01, the porosity has been found 16.61% for NGS 2, 18.81% for NGS-1, 16.11% for UGS, and 13.83% for LGS. In SD-2, the porosity is 12.73%, 13.24%, 9.61% and 10.65% for NGS-2, NGS-1, UGS and LGS. In SD-3, the porosity for NGS 1, UGS and LGS are 13.5%, 9.5% and 9% respectively. On the other hand, the shale volume is found 18.5%, 0.27%, 2.28%, and 0.72% for NGS-2, NGS-1, UGS, and LGS zones respectively in SD-1. The shale determined for SD-2 are 0.27%, 10.61% and 19.42% respectively for NGS-1,UGS and LGS. The SD-3 has a the shale volume of 0.44%, 16.03% 3 and 21.7% for NGS-1, UGS and LGS respectively.The NGS-1 has a shale volume of 7.26%, UGS 6.596% and LGS 1.2% in SD-4.Item ISOLATION, MOLECULAR IDENTIFICATION AND SCREENING OF FUSARIUM MYCOTOXIN DON(Dept. of Plant Pathology, 2017) JAHAN, ISRATMycotoxins are the toxic substances which are produced as a result of infection caused by fungi as their secondary metabolite. Major toxin producing fungi are Fusarium, Penicillium, Aspergillus and Claviceps which produces DON, ZEN, OTA, FB, AFB, citrinin and patulin. The experiment was carried out in Key Laboratory of Food Safety and Quality Control, Institute of Food Science and Technology, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Beijing China under completely randomized design with three replications. The objectives of the experiment were the isolation, molecular identification and screening of the single bacterial colony which is responsible for the degradation of Fusarium mycotoxin deoxynivalenol European wheat samples. Wheat samples were mixed using lysogeny broth media, PBS media and mineral salt DONstar immunoaffinity column. Six Bacteria genera namely Pseudomonas spp, Agrobacterium sp, Zobellella sp, Bacillus sp., Achromobacter sp, Advenella sp and Cupriavidus sp. were isolated and identified by PCR amplifying 16SrDNA gene fragment. Like others our county has some abundance too. River dimensional, this country is the state of sweet water fishes. Because of natural climate this is the only birth place of those local fishes and available here. Which fish are local? Where they belong? When they can be found? So many questions are related with them as we hardly know our local fishes. Branch of them can identify easily, but most of are lost in the absence of saving. Without knowing, we cannot save those fishes from being extinct. A lot of work has been done in the field of research on recognition which has been came in front of us. There is minimum work on fish, and if we focus on the word local, still any research has not been done on Bangladeshi local fish. This is why it make us more interested to work on this section. With the help of this research some local fish can be recognize by capturing image. For research, we collect data from local fish market and then with the help of machine learning the rest of work has been done. We use some feature extraction like Color Analysis, Texture Analysis, Segmentation and three type of classifiers for training our data. After classification various experimental test have done which can determine whether it’s enough hard to recognize our local fishes. This work of research is related with Machine- vision, in that case image processing is used to recognize our local fishes. Machine Vision is the one kind of technology and methods which is used to provide imaging-based automatic inspection and also analysis for such applications like automatic inspection, process control, and robot guidance, usually in industry.Item MITIGATION OF ARSENIC TOXICITY IN WHEAT WITH SODIUM NITROPRUSSIDE (SNP)(DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURAL BOTANY SHER-E-BANGLA AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY DHAKA-1207, 2016-06) JAHAN, ISRATThe arsenic (As) contamination is increasing gradually in agricultural land with climate change. Wheat is the second cereals after rice in Bangladesh. Therefore, wheat production is affecting with As contamination. A pot experiment was conducted in the farm of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, during rabi season, November 2015 to March 2016 to examine the role of sodium nitroprusside (SNP) as NO donor on mitigation of As toxicity in wheat. In this experiment, the treatment consisted of four different As levels viz. As0 = without As (control), As1 = 30 mg As kg-1 soil, As2 = 60 mg As kg-1 soil, As3 = 90 mg As kg-1 soil and three different concentrations of SNP viz. N0 = 0 mM SNP, N1= 0.1 mM SNP and N2 = 0.2 mM SNP. The experiment was laid out in two factors Completely Randomize Design (CRD) with four replications. The total treatment combinations were 12 (4x3). Results of the experiment showed a significant variation among the treatments in respect of most of the parameters as morphological, physiological, yield contributors and yield characters. The higher levels of As showed greater reduction of growth, development and yield component to control or without As. Separately, exogenous application of SNP improved the morpho-physiology, yield contributing characters and yield of wheat. The different parameters such as plant height, leaf number plant-1, number of tiller and effective tiller plant-1, length of spike, membrane stability, number of spikelet spike-1, number of effective spikelet spike-1 number of grains plant-1, 100 grains weight and grain yield pot-1 of wheat significantly decreased with As contamination whereas SNP significantly increased these grain yield pot-1 by improving the morphological, physiological and yield characters. The interaction between different levels of As and SNP showed significant difference in wheat by altering the morpho-physiological and yield contributing characters and grain yield per pot. The maximum grain yield (12.60 g pot-1) was obtained from 0.1 mM SNP along without As (As0N1) treatment combination which did not show any difference with 30 mg As kg-1 soil and 0.1 mM SNP (As1N1). The grain yield pot-1 of wheat was improved from 10.30 g to 12.35 g, 8.50 g to 9.82 g and 5.69 g to 6.88 g at 30 mg, 60 mg and 90 mg As kg-1 soil, respectively along with 0.1 mM SNP and are suggesting that exogenous foliar application of SNP mitigates the adverse effects of As toxicity in wheat.Item POST HARVEST DISEASES IN SOME SELECTED ROOT AND TUBER CROPS AND IDENTIFICATION THEIR CAUSAL AGENTS(DEPARTMENT OF PLANT PATHOLOGY, 2020) JAHAN, ISRATThe experiment was conducted at MS Laboratory, Department of Plant Pathology, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka-1207 during the period of August 2019 to March 2020 to isolate, identify, and characterize the causal agents responsible for the post-harvest spoilage of some selected root and tuber crops. Potato, sweet potato, radish and carrot were used as samples. Infected samples were collected from different markets in Dhaka city. The postharvest fungi were isolated on PDA medium following tissue planting method. Five different fungi genera were isolated and identified viz. Aspergillus niger, Geotrichum candidum, Rhizopus stolonifer, Fusarium spp. and Penicillium digitatum. Of these, Fusarium spp. has the highest percentage of frequency of occurrence in potato, carrot and radish. In carrot, Aspergillus niger showed more frequency of occurrence than Geotrichum candidum but in case of sweet potato, the occurrence of Rhizopus stolonifer was found to be more than Penicillium digitatum. Pathogenicity tests revealed that all the isolated fungi were pathogenic to their respective host as post-harvest pathogens. Effect of different media and temperature on growth of isolated fungi were studied. On PDA media, the highest radial mycelial growth (4.06 cm) at 8 DAI was recorded in Aspergillus niger (carrot) which was statistically similar with Rhizopus stolonifer (sweet potato) whereas, the lowest radial mycelial growth (2.54 cm) was recorded in Fusarium oxysporum (radish). The highest radial mycelial growth was observed in PDA followed by CDA media. Most of the isolated fungi showed the highest growth rate at 30℃ temperature, whereas, the growth rate of Rhizopus stolonifer was found the highest at 25℃ temperature.Item SOCIO-ECONOMIC DETERMINANTS OF ADOPTION OF SUNFLOWER PRODUCTION BY THE FARMERS OF PATUAKHALI SADAR UPAZILA(DEPT. OF AGRICULTURAL EXTENSION & INFORMATION SYSTEM, 2017) JAHAN, ISRATThe major thrust of this study were to determine and describe the socio-economic determinants of sunflower growers, determine the extent of adoption of different practices of sunflower by the growers, explore the contribution of the socio-economic determinants of adoption of different practices of sunflower by the growers. Data were collected from randomly selected 113 sunflower farmers of five blocks of five union under Patuakhali sadar upazila. The selected five (05) blocks namely Bollovpur, Birajala, Morichbunia, kewabunia, Bara Auliapur by using an interview schedule during 17 September to 25 September, 2018. The highest proportion (69.1 percent) of the sunflower growers fell under the medium adoption category, while 21.2 percent had high adoption and 9.7 percent had low adoption of sunflower production technologies. Thus, an overwhelming majority (90.3 %) of the sunflower farmers had medium to high adoption of improved sunflower production technologies. Among the ten hypothesized relationships, five (5) variables namely knowledge, education, family size, extension media contact and organizational participation were found significantly contribution to the adoption of improved practices of sunflower production (Table 4.13) while rest of the variables showed no significant contribution. All the factors jointly contribute 73.7% of the variance of the adoption (R 2 = 0.737). Which were; age, farm size, land under sunflower cultivation, profitability from sunflower production, training in sunflower production technology had no significant contribution.Item Study of Microbial Load and Their Antibiotic Resistance in Different Samples of Ostrich(HAJEE MOHAMMOD DANESH SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY UNIVERSITY, DINAJPUR, 2017-06) JAHAN, ISRAT; Dr. Nazmi Ara Rumi LecturerThe study was conducted to monitor the microbial assessment in oropharyngeal swab , cloacal swab and fecal samples of ostrich and also update knowledge on antimicrobial sensitivity of isolated organisms .The study was performed at HSTU ostrich farm from 16th January to 15th June, 2016. A total 75 samples were collected from 8 ostriches at different age of which 25 oropharyngeal, 25 cloacal swabs sample and 25 were feces samples. The organisms were isolated by using standard microbiological method. The result revealed that the average microbial load in plate count agar was highest in feces (1.48 ×109±0.27CFU) than oropharyngeal swab(1.36×109 ±0.38 CFU) and cloacal swab (1.28×109 ±0.34 CFU) .Among seventy five sampls, 29 (38.66%) Escherichia coli, 21 (28%) Salmonella spp, 20 (26.67%) Staphylococcus spp. 5 (6.6%) Bacillus spp. were identified. In twenty five oropharyngeal swab sampls, Staphylococcus spp was found higher 15 (60%) than other organisms but Escherichia coli were found higher both in cloacal 11(44%) and faecal 12(48%) samples. On antibiogram study Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp, Staphylococcus spp. and Bacillus spp were more sensitive to Levovidine, Azithromycin, Nalidixic Acid and Amoxicillin respectively while more resistant to Azithromycin, Penicillin ,Chloramphenicol and Erythromycin respectively . The obtained results indicated that ostrich excreta is one of the most important sources of Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus spp, Salmonella spp, Bacillus spp.in ostrich farms. Finally, it may be concludes that the logical use of antibiotics must be adopted in ostrich farms reared in Bangladesh for prevention the appearance of multi drug resistance bacteria. Moreover proper measures should be taken to ward off zoonotic diseases in peoples who are related to ostriche farming
