EVALUATION OF OOCYTES RECOVERED FROM OVARIES OF BLACK BENGAL GOAT UNDER DIFFERENT RETRIVAL METHODS
(DEPARTMENT OF ANIMAL PRODUCTION AND MANAGEMENT, SHER-E-BANGLA AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY, 2019-06) ISLAM, MD. TARIKUL
Black Bengal goat is the national pride of Bangladesh. Ovary is the key female reproductive organ of all the vertebrates. With the aim to study the ovarian morphometry of Black Bengal goat, both right and left ovaries were collected from the slaughter houses. For each of the specimens, gross parameters such as right, left, corpus luteum (CL) present and absent group and evaluated on the basis of weight (g), length (cm), width (cm), follicles aspirated and number and state of cumulus-oocyte-complexes (COCs), normal COCs and abnormal COCs, the effect of collection techniques on cumulus oocyte complexes (COCs) of goat oocytes There is no significant differences were found in right and left ovaries. On the other hand significantly higher weight [(1.30±0.30) vs (0.98±0.17) g] and width [(1.08±0.24) vs (0.89±0.22) cm] were found in CL-present group than those of CL-absent group of ovaries. The recovery rates of grade A (31.11%) and B (22.41%) oocytes were higher than that of grade C (19.83%) and D (26.61%). It was observed that, the total number of COCs per ovary as well as the number of abnormal COCs/ovary were significantly higher (p<0.05) in slicing (3.28 and 1.44, respectively) and dissection (3.44 and 1.76, respectively) followed by aspiration (3.20 and 0.84, respectively) technique. In contrast, the number of normal COCs/ovary was significantly higher (p<0.01) in aspiration (2.36) followed by slicing (1.84) and puncture (1.68) techniques. Periods as 2, 4, 6 and 8 hours yield 78%, 69%, 60% and 53% oocytes counts of good, fair, poor and bad quality oocytes respectively. Yield of oocyte was highest in dissection technique compared with aspiration and slicing technique but maximum number of normal oocyte obtained from aspiration technique.

RESPONSE OF BORO RICE TO NIMIN-COATED UREA AS A SLOW RELEASE NITROGEN FERTILIZER
(Dept. of Soil Science, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka, Bangladesh, 2007-12) ISLAM, MD. TARIKUL
A field experiment was conducted in the field of Soil Science Department of Shcr-e Bangla Agricultural University. Dhaka during the horo season from 3 December to 27 March, 2008. to observe the effect or Nimin coated nitrogen (N) fertilizer over priMed nitrogenous fertilizer on the yield and yield contributing characters of 111<1(1 dhan 29. The soil of the experimental field belongs to the Modhupur tract under AEZ 28 The experiment was laid out in randomized block design with three replications. There were three levels of (N) (60, 90 and 120 kg N hi1) each from urea and nimin coated nitrogen fertilizer and one nitrogen control treatment. The unite plot size was 4 ni 3 ni, with a spacing of 20 cm 20 cm. Nimin coated nitrogen significantly increased plant height. tillers hill', effective tillers hill', grains panicle* grain and straw yields of BRRI dhan 29. The highest plant height, number of effective tillers and straw yield were thund in Nimin coated nitrogen 'â 120 kg hi' which was statistically identical with Nimin coated nitrogen (W 90 kg hi' The maximum yield (4.84 t hi') and filled grain (146 I panical') were observed from Nimin coated nitrogen 0. 90 kg ha1 which was statistically similar with Nimin coated nitrogen 120 kg hi' Therefore Nimin coated nitrogen @. 90 kg hi is more economic and nitrogen use efficiency was higher than other treatments for horo dhan 29 cultivation. The diflèrent nitrogen levels significantly influenced uptake of nitrogen by BRR1 dhan 29. Between the tow N sour as, the highest N uptake by BRRI dhan 29 was recorded in 120 kg Nimin coated hi'. in all cases the uptakes of nitrogen i.e. from grain and from soil were affected by different nitrogen fertilizers, Nimin coated nitrogen C 120 kg hi' performed the highest results.
