An analysis of job satisfaction and employee turnover drivers in Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank
(BRAC University, 2025-10) Ovy, Md. Tanvir Rahman; Andalib, Tarnima Warda
This internship report represents a comprehensive analysis of job satisfaction and the key factors influencing employee turnover at Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB). Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank is a state-owned specialized bank focused on agricultural and rural development in the northwest part of Bangladesh. As part of my MBA journey at BRAC University, I was able to work directly with the bank's customer service and HR departments. This gave me both hands-on experience and a firsthand look at how the bank works. The purpose of this report was to find out why some employees are happy with their jobs and others are thinking about quitting. To do this, I took 100 surveys from the head office and the Paba branch, as well as a few people who used to work at RAKUB. The study looks at several variables, including the working environment, salary satisfaction, stress, performance appraisal, job satisfaction, support from supervisors, and connections with coworkers. Findings show that employees are happier when they have a supportive workplace, good relationships with coworkers, and good interactions with managers. Dissatisfaction with remuneration, high workload, and job-related stress raise turnover intention. RAKUB has a strong base and a good culture. But RAKUB needs to work on making salaries better, reducing stress levels, and making career routes clearer if it wants to keep its best employees, especially younger ones. These modifications could help keep staff motivated and dedicated over the long term.

Investigating the factors affecting employee grievance in private commercial banks: a study on City Bank PLC
(BRAC University, 2025-05) Farabi, Nahian; Andalib, Tarnima Warda
This study examines organisational and psychological factors that influence the grievance behaviour of employees in the case of a private commercial bank in Bangladesh and focuses on City Bank PLC. Using the Two-Factor Theory by Herzberg, the Three-Component Model of Commitment by Meyer & Allen, the Organisational Citizenship Behaviour (OCB) Theory by Organ; the study measures the relationship between employee commitment, morale, performance, job satisfaction, job commitment, and (extra work) performance to formal grievances. A comprehensive survey on 327 staff members from various departments on the 5-point Likert scale was carried out and the data was analysed using correlation and multiple linear regression methods. Research findings show that job commitment, extra-work performance and employee commitment and job satisfaction can greatly predict employee grievances, which are positively correlated. This implies that highly involved and committed employees are more likely to air their grievances when organisational expectations are not met. On the other side, grievance behaviour did not display a statistically significant impact on employee morale and performance. The study emphasises the need for clear grievance process, equitable recognition, and complimentary management in high stress environments, like banking. By solving these dynamics, City Bank PLC and other institutions gain a better way of managing employee-relations and organisational trust. The research adds a modest contribution to the empirical literature on grievance behaviour in South Asia’s private banking sector while also having practical implications for human resource management.
