Abstract

The field experiment was carried during the period of April to June 2016 at Horticulture farm of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University Dhaka-1207, Bangladesh. The experiment was laid out in the Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications. Treatment consisted of four levels of plant growth regulator i.e. G 0 hormone, G 1 boron, B 1 = 50 mg/l, G 2 = 15 ppm, B 2 =100mg/l, G 3 =150mg/l; and three levels of boron i.e. B 0 = 30 ppm. Result revealed that the vegetative growth namely plant height was highest (255.38 cm) in G 2 of primary branches plant -1 B 2 and lowest (149.42 cm) in G 0 was highest (12.30) in G 2 number of secondary branches plant G 0 B 0 -1 B 2 were highest (9.22) in G 2 B 0 =No =No , number and lowest (4.09)in G 0 . The reproductive development i.e. the number of male flowers plant (36.47) in G 2 B 2 and lowest (14.23) in G 0 highest (20.17) in G 2 (17.33) in G 2 B 2 B 2 and lowest (9.20) in G 0 and lowest (7.16) in G 0 and lowest (21.66 t ha -1 ) in G 0 B 0 B 0 B 0 B 2 and lowest (2.19) in -1 , number of female flowers plant B 0 , number of fruits plant and yield was highest (39.06 t ha . The combined effect G 2 B 2 -1 B 0 was highest -1 , was was highest -1 ) in G 2 produced the best result for all vegetative growth, reproductive development and yield of bitter gourd. Therefore, the combination of G 2 B 2 could be used to cultivate bitter gourd.
