dc.description.abstractMurraya koenigii (curry leaves) is an abundant source of bioactive phytochemicals which has been used for not only the general promotion of health and longevity but also as a traditional medicine for the treatment of various diseases. The aim of this study was to determine antioxidant activity, antibacterial activity and cytotoxic property of the Petroleum ether extract of Murraya koenigii leaf. After conducting antioxidant tests by Total Phenolic Content and Total Flavanoid Content, it revealed the presence of 341mg of AAE/gm of phenolic components and 75.717mg of Quercetin/gm flavanoid components respectively. The Brine Shrimp Lethality Bioassay study clearly indicates the presence of cytotoxic properties by LC50 effect of petroleum ether extract of leaf of Murraya koenigii. The Zone of inhibition also showed low to moderate antibacterial activities which justify its use in traditional medicine.
