Abstract
The report investigates the implementation and benefits of a Web-based Monitoring and Evaluation (M and E) system for foreign-aided projects, specifically under Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC). The focus is on improving project management and accountability by adopting a digitized M and E system for tracking progress, managing procurement, and ensuring compliance with sustainability criteria. This system enhances project management by improving the tracking of progress, procurement, and sustainability compliance.
The DCNUP project, supported by the World Bank, aims to upgrade public spaces and infrastructure, emphasizing transparency, accountability, and efficiency through digitized reporting. The Dhaka City Neighbourhood Upgrading Project (DCNUP) introduce this Web-based Monitoring and Evaluation (M and E) system as pilot basis for Dhaka South City Corporation.
The report finds how digital tools can enhance transparency, facilitate timely reporting, and ensure better use of public resources by implementing a comprehensive Monitoring and Evaluation system. The report also recommends how the existing web-based platform can be introduce the operations in DSCC for better control and resource management in future and how the system can move through a continuous development process.
