In the current day, restaurants and food delivery companies often have steep competition. With the addition of the internet, now at the fingertips of all customers, the competition has become even more steep and unpredictable. Nowadays, people prefer to order food online and expect all restaurants to have home delivery options. As such, this project ”Dragon Restaurant” is made to address the issue of online ordering to selected customers who wish to order food from a distance and get goods delivered at home to enjoy on their own time with their families or friends. Around 2017, this idea became a topic of discussion. By 2019, it struck mainstream business, saw record climbing revenue and saved huge financial burdens from restaurants. Companies, both big and small adopted to the new way of digital order and delivery. This project, aims to show how cost effective and time saving it is to order food online instead of waiting in lines to get a seat at a restaurant. The project came with its set of challenges to overcome and objectives to achieve. Prior works on various other restaurant management systems are looked into, along with reasons for using a different approach - why Java is used instead of HTML and CSS. The requirements, positives, negatives and feasibility - both technical and financial along with model diagrams are elaborated. The database is discussed in detail. All components of the project, each UI/UX component and their functionalities are explained. Implementation shows how project works, how well it functions and how smooth it is. To evaluate the project, JUnit tests for all components are utilized. Conclusions are reached and future updates are discussed.
