dc.description.abstractThe Matlab Demographic Surveillance System was funded by the United Nations' Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA) under a grant no. INT/P13/80 and is currently funded by the Canadian Inernational Development Agency (CIDA). The International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh is supported by countries and agencies which share its concern about the impact of diarrhoeal diseases on the developing world. Current major donors giving assistance to ICDDR,B are: Aga Khan Foundation, Arab Gulf Programme, Australia, Bangladesh, Belgium, Canada (Canadian Inernational Development Agency and the International Development Research Centre), the Ford Foundation, Japan, Norwagian Agency for International Development, Saudi Arabia, Swedish Agency for Research Co-operation with Developing Countries, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the United Nations Children's Fund, United Nations Development Programme, United States Agency International Development, and World Health Organization.
