One-Stop Pet Adoption Platform

Abstract

The One-Stop Pet Adoption Platform is a web-based application that consolidates pet discovery and adoption with post-adoption services in a single cohesive system. Traditional processes are fragmented across different websites and providers, which discourages adoptions and complicates aftercare. Our platform integrates searchable adoption listings with rich pet profiles, an e-commerce module for essential supplies, and veterinary appointment booking. The frontend is implemented with React (Vite and React Router) and TailwindCSS for responsive UI; the backend uses Node.js/Express, while MySQL provides persistent storage. JWT and bcrypt enforce secure authentication. Testing spans unit, integration, system, usability, performance, and security validations. Results indicate that unifying adoption and aftercare reduces friction for users and improves operational oversight for administrators via role-based tools. The solution establishes a robust foundation for future enhancements such as secure online payments, cloud deployment, AI-based recommendations, and mobile application.
