| dc.description.abstract | "Dengue fever is a viral disease transmitted by mosquitoes, affecting a significant number of people worldwide. This review aims to summarize the current knowledge of the pathophysiology and diagnostic aspects of dengue fever. The Pathophysiology of dengue is well understood so far; which eventually aims to explain the association of inflammatory response followed by the release of cytokines and chemokines which later allied with causing fever, rash, headaches etc. T-cells and the gut microbiome role in worsening the condition during dengue are also highlighted. Additionally, this review explores clinical manifestations of dengue fever and severe dengue-associated complications. Molecular, virological, and serological assays are explored as diagnostic methods, with challenges associated by their use. New diagnostic technologies, including (SPR), (QCM), (EIS), (SERS) and CRISPR-Cas assays are discussed, with SPR being the most effective due to its high sensitivity and labelfree method. Overall, the review highlights the importance of accurate and timely diagnosis in managing dengue fever" | |
