Abstract

In this project a Microstrip bandstop filter is designed using a defected ground structure (DGS). The equivalent circuit for the DGS and its corresponding L-C parameters are extracted by using its S-parameters response (EM simulation). The operating frequencies from 1GHz to 20GHz. The bandstop filter is realized and optimized using DGS in form of slot to provide a compact size and exhibit better performance. Measured results show good agreement with the theoretical results.
