An Approach to Hiding Data in the Images Using Steganography Techniques

Abstract

Steganography is a very useful method of hiding the existence of secret data hidden inside a cover object. Digital Steganography refers to hiding information such as text, images or audio files into another image or audio file. In digital steganography, Images are mostly used as cover objects because of the wide usage, small file size and the structure of digital images. Adding Cryptography with Steganography will add another layer of security in digital communication. One distorts the message and the other hides its existence. Our project aims to develop tools which will allow us to encrypt – decrypt (Cryptography) and hide – retrieve (Steganography) text and image data into and from another cover image. The Steganography technique used here is called Spatial Domain Technique. And the implementation was done using C-Sharp (C#).
