| dc.description.abstract | In this case study, a six-month-old Persian tomcat with gastric dilatation-volvulus (GDV), a rare illness in feline medicine, was successfully treated with medication. The cat had a history of increased lethargy and lack of feces, and it showed signs of malnutrition, respiratory distress, and abdominal distension. GDV was verified by diagnostic imaging, which showed rotation and distension of the stomach. Medical stabilization using bronchodilators, corticosteroids, hydration therapy, and broadspectrum antibiotics were all part of the treatment. To alleviate gas buildup, gastrocentesis was another component of the treatment strategy. Significant clinical improvement, stomach structural normalization, and symptom resolution were observed at the post-treatment follow-up. This study emphasizes how crucial it is to manage GDV in cats with an early diagnosis, a methodical treatment plan, and careful post-therapy care. | |
