The difference in the theory and practice of news editing and translating in DBC

Abstract

This internship report is completed after attending three months internship program in DBC. This internship aims to observe the application of theoretical knowledge into a practical one. The objective of this report is to analyze the difference between theory and practices. While doing the internship, I need to analyze the theories about how it will be applied in the practical form. I worked in the ‘Newsroom Editing Sector’ in DBC. I have to do translation from Bangla to English and also edit the news. While doing editing and translating news, I have been facing some obstacles when I have to relate to theories. I have been faced, what differences I have been found while doing the internship, all the things are described as chapter wise in this paper. The first part consists of an introductory part with the history of DBC News Channel. I share my internship experience and what I have learned in my academic life in Chapter 02 and Chapter 03. In Chapter 04, I discuss the difference in theory and practice what I have found while working in DBC. I also keep a ‘Recommendations’ where I put my opinion while working on DBC. Finally, I also give ‘work citation’ which helps me to build up a well standard paper and also add ‘appendix’ as a proof to work on DBC.
