Modified E-voting System Using Blockchain Technology

Abstract

From the beginning of society, voting is an important event. That time people had been made the decision by throwing the different colored ball or by showing a simple hand gesture. With the development of society and the increment of the population, the voting process became more complex. At first, those simple processes were replaced by the ballot paper system. However, it has some technical, social and financial issues. The electronic voting can solve these issues, but it has come with some drawback of its own like software errors, security issues. The development of technology has been continuously influencing modern society to create a more accessible and secure process for voting. In this flow, the invention of the blockchain is a turning point because of its transparency, immutability and decentralize properties. This paper underlines the lacking of the current e-voting system. In this paper, we proposed a more secure e-voting system that uses blockchain technology. In here, we use blockchain network to check the validity of voter and candidates. Concluding this paper is a view of how blockchain can solve the problems with the current e-voting system.
