SOLO: Web-Based Educational Resources

Abstract

We are going to develop a web application named “SOLO: Web-Based Educational Resources”. It’s an online platform for an offline educational institution. It provides the institute to run almost all main functionalities of study purposes online. Sometimes, unexpected things happen which causes offline education interrupted. Like last year (2020), every institution including the education system had been closed their physical activities because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This project provides services in these kinds of circumstances. There are fixed courses and subjects under some departments. Teachers can maintain these courses enrolling their students. A new department, subject, and course can be added anytime. This project maintains communication between teachers and students. Teachers and students can discuss with each other the topic of lectures about given courses via a social group. Teachers can share course content with their students. These contents can be any type of files like pdf, document, audio, or video. Students can view and if wish, can download them. They can take quizzes through this system. Classes can be held online through video meetings. Recording of these classes is also available for the students. They can submit the assignment on this system. This system also helps the institute to maintain its functionality online parallel along with offline which will save time and expenses for all. Also, will be easy for both the teacher and student.
