Reproductive performance is one of the most important factors determining the profitability of dairy herds. The achievement of early cyclicity after postpartum is very important in maintaining of dairy industry. Metabolic and Macrominerals profile have been used in efforts to predict pre and postpartum problems and fertility in crossbred dairy cows. The present study was conducted to find out the variations and relationship between metabolic and macro-minerals profile on cyclic and postpartum anoestrous crossbred dairy cows. A total number of 30 lactating crossbred dairy cows were selected in Sadar Upazila of Sylhet district in Bangladesh. The selected cows were divided into two groups. Cows in Group-A (control group) (n=15) were cycling crossbred dairy cows. Cows in Group-B (n=15) was suffering from postpartum anoestrous. Blood samples were collected from all cows and serum were separated and analyzed for biochemical parameters such as glucose, blood urea nitrogen (BUN), non esterified fatty acid (NEFA), calcium and phosphorus. The mean Glucose level of cyclic cows (59.1 ± 2.2 mg/dl) was significantly (P<0.05) higher than anoestrous cows (28.0 ± 3.0 mg/dl). The mean BUN and NEFA level of cyclic cows (15.1 ± 1.9 mg/dl, 0.3 ± 0.1 mmol/l) were significantly (P<0.05) lower than anoestrous cows (22.8 ± 0.9 mg/dl, 0.6 ± 0.1 mmol/l). The mean calcium and phosphorus level of cyclic cows (10.9 ± 1.4 mg/dl, 6.0 ± 0.7 mg/dl) was significantly (P<0.05) higher than anoestrous cows (7.8 ± 0.5 mg/dl, 3.8 ± 0.4 mg/dl). The results of the current research can provide useful guidelines for management strategies during different cyclic and anoestrous period of high yielding crossbred dairy cows.
