Abstract
The present study was conducted in Chattogram Area to compare chemical composition of Zara, Pakchong and German grass at different harvesting stages of Lohagara Chattogram. Grasses were collected randomly from the various farms in Lohagara, Chattogram district. We investigate chemical composition (DM, CP, CF, EE & Ash) of Zara, Packchong & German grass at 30,60 & 90 days of harvesting from different dairy farms. The results showed that dry matter content of Zara grass at 30, 60 & 90 days are 10.74, 10.89, 11.44, in Packchong at 30, 60 & 90 days are 11.00, 13.48, 13.43, in German grass at 30, 60 & 90 days are 13.63, 13.65 & 13.65. The crude protein (CP) content of Zara grass at 30, 60 & 90 days are 16.01, 9.45 & 10.24, in Packchong grass at 30, 60 & 90 days are 13.30, 8.50 & 13.48, in German grass at 30, 60 & 90 days are 16.06, 14.18 & 10.94. In conclusion significant variation was observed in chemical composition of different grasses which would be helpful for farmers ration formulation.
