| dc.description.abstract | This paper deals with the problem of unsteady, laminar forced convective heat and mass transfer flow of a viscous incompressible fluid with thermophoresis due to a porous rotating disk in the presence of partial slip and magnetic field. The numerical simulation is carried out for the solution of nonlinear partial differential equations by applying Nachtsheim–Swigert shooting iteration technique along with sixth-order Runge–Kutta iteration scheme. Comparison with previously published work for the steady case is performed and results are found to be in excellent agreement. The effects of the model parameters on the dimensionless velocity (radial, tangential and axial), temperature, and concentration fields are displayed graphically. The local skin-friction coefficient (radial and tangential) and the local Nusselt number are also calculated and tabulated. The obtained results show that the axial thermophoretic velocity is increased with the increasing values of the thermophoretic coefficient and the thermophoresis parameter. The results also show that the applied magnetic field and the slip parameter strongly control the flow, heat and mass transfer characteristics. | |
