Abstract
The present study was designed to investigate the effect of dietary Essential oils
supplementation on growth performances, feed intake, feed conversion ratio, carcass
yield and lipid profile of broiler. This experiment was conducted at Malek Poultry Farm
at kornai, Sadar Upazila of Dinajpur, Bangladesh. 84 day old broiler chicks were
randomly assigned into four dietary treatment groups (T0, T1, T2 and T3) that were
supplemented with 0 g, 7.5 g, 15 g and 20 g of essential oils/100 kg feed. The results
revealed that the dietary supplementation of essential oils significantly increased
(P< 0.05) live weight, weight gain, feed efficiency and carcass yield. On the other hand,
dietary supplementation of essential oils reduced (p> 0.05) the cholesterol, triglyceride,
HDL and LDL level. In conclusion supplementation of essential oils to the diets of
broiler acts as an alternative tool of growth and production performances of broiler.
