Abstract

The experiment was conducted on Cobb-500 broiler chicks to evaluate the effects of probiotics and enzymes supplementation on growth performance and hematological parameters (TEC, Hb concentration, PCV and ESR). A total of 160, 14 days old broiler chicks were reared throughout the entire period of study. The chicks were divided randomly into four groups with 40 broiler chicks in each group. Group A was designated as control group was given only normal broiler ration and rest of the groups were supplemented by probiotics and enzymes [Group B ( probiotics preparation Protexin® @ 1gm/L)], [Group C (enzyme preparation (Alquerzim® @ 1gm/L)] and [Group D (probiotic Protexin® @ 1gm/L and enzyme Alquerzim® @ 1 gm/L)] with drinking water from 1 st to 21 th day of experiment. It was observed that probiotics and enzymes supplementation enhanced the body weight of broiler chickens. At the final day of experiment the body weight was significantly increased (P<0.01) in the treatment groups in comparison with that of control group. TEC, Hb concentration, PCV values were significantly increased (P<0.01) in treatment groups than the control group but ESR level was decreased significantly (P<0.01) than the control group. So the farmers of Bangladesh can be benefitted by using probiotics and enzymes in broiler chicken ration.
